    Bangkok Post : 73kg of 'ice' seized

    73kg of 'ice' seizedPolice seized a large haul of 73kg of ice or crystal methamphetamine with a street value of about 220 million baht at the southern bus terminal in Taling Chan district on Tuesday night, Pol Lt-Gen Winai Thongsong said on Wednesday.

    Pol Lt-Gen Winai, the metropolitan police chief, said that acting on a tip-off Taling Chan police scoured the southern bus terminal and found six suitcases at terminals Nos 1 and 6 at about 7.30pm.

    They laid in wait until 10.30pm but nobody showed up to take them.

    The police examined the suitcases and found they were stuffed with packs of altogether 73kg of ice.

    Footage of closed-circuit television cameras in the area showed two suspects, a man and a woman, who were also seen by some people bringing the suitcases to the terminals, Pol Lt-Gen Winai said.
