Just checked the rules on tattoos and the good news is if you want some stars on your neck to realise celebrity status the visa will still be issued

    I think that I've read about 3 different non-immigrant O visa's up till now:
    - non-O for visiting relatives in Thailand
    - non-O marriage
    - non-O retirement

The OP is talking about the first one, which will give him 360 days.
He only has to visit immigration every 90 days for a report (free).
Just before his visa expires he has to make a border-run and he will get another 360 days. Correct me if I'm wrong

    You're wrong.

Their visa is valid for multiple entries for 360 days from date of issue with a maximum stay of 3 months. Before expiry of this permission to stay they are required to leave Thailand. This obviates the need for any reporting but of course can be a chore. If a trip is arranged with a return to Thailand effected shortly before expiry of the visa then it will have a total validity of 15 months. It can only be replaced by another such visa issued at a designated consulate, usually in the applicant's own country although I understand Singapore and KL may well issue if all documents are available and you don't appear to be a tyke.

as far as i can figure, i can't report locally, but in situ i may find it to be different ( that relates to the post above yours mainly).

I was told that i'd have to leave to get another 12 month visa, the guy at the consulate in Cardiff said that i could do it there, so that's all i know really. I didn't have to show ANY paperwork other than a letter off The Bane of my Life and a copy of my son's birth certficate. I thought i might have to show proof of income etc... They were really nice people, he and his wife (farang) ran the place but they are retiring next year so who knows whether they will change anything.

and as for this thread not being interesting, well obviously it's not. It is a necessity however for some. Necessities are never interesting. It's a bit like saying, "that beans on toast you had for your lunch wasnt very intellectually stimulation"

Of course it wasn't you fucking moron, but it got me from A to B.

    tit.
