I think it's pretty much all of us (if entering Thailand as a tourist) can now do this. Awesome.

A huge loss of income for immi offices.

They'll have to make that up somehow.

Is there still a limit on land entries per year?

The cheapo lads living near the borders might take up the unofficial marriage visa system again.

Do a border crossing, loading up on duty free whiskey and fags.
Get 60 days for free, don't bother with any visas.
Go to their local IO, get a 60 day extension for visiting family, auto starts at the end of the original 60 day entry stamp. 1900thb.

Repeat the Duty Free run every 120 days.

David Cameron swung through a while back and together with Shretta made some happy noises that Britain and Thailand were looking at relaxing visa constraints on their respective travellers with Shretta hoping Thai could visit the UK sans visa. During a follow up trip to Schengen Land, Shretta voiced again the hope that Thai could travel without obstacles and that he would now look at giving EU travellers a better deal.

Mzybe, just maybe, Thai will no longer be visa nationals for UK and the EU.
