If it was easy, every Mendo, NZDick and Harry would choose it over a marriage extension due to the funds not needing to be seasoned. Money in the bank for 2 minutes vrs money in the bank for 2 months. Hence why they generally refuse the application if married to the mother, and insist on an extension based on marriage.
Go to talk to your local IO, explain the situation and see what they say.
