Not so unusual. When I was working in Bangkok and had a work permit I didn't report for 7 years. When I finally converted my visa to retirement I simply paid a fine, I think I negotiated it down to about 1000 baht. Well worth it considering the hassle of running out to Chaeng Wattana every 90 days and losing a day of work every time.

Yes I did mate, numerous times.

    Another question for Piwanoi is
Buriram is deffo open , a good mate of mine did his 1 yearly Ret Visa Yesterday (Mon ) with no problems.
Last year peoples getting a 'Retirement Extension' at Kap Choeng were given a 30 day stamp 'Under Consideration'. Having then to return to get the extension stamp 30 days later. Did your mate have to do the same this year in Buriram?
No He got the full retirement visa with no stamp under consideration , I renewed mine in August in KC again with no stamp under consideration, I am going to BR next week for my 90 report

Went today and I was in a right mood. The officer I dealt with told me 'not to be so serious'. I told him 'that's okay for you to say but I get fined for a late report'. He then checked on the computer and said 'the contractors had a bad line'. I asked 'what happens if it happens again?'. 'Just come in' was his reply. Yeah right, a 160+ish round trip for a 2 minute process. Great idea. Twats.

Am I right in thinking your 90 day report only took two minutes ?

Have you thought of re-locating? Worthing may well be a better choice for you as you delve further into your irascibility.

Last time I reported, 10 days ago actually, it took 15 minutes drive to get to Jomtien Soi 5 and on picking up my appointment number I duly noted it was the next in line and in fact I did the biz before even taking a seat.
Nice breakfast in the Sportsman followed, and then a couple of hours shopping around Central Festival after which I was back to the infinity pool taking the afternoon zephyrs around me nethers.

I really don't understand what the appeal is to be billeted in the boonies amid the rural dystopia of chicken-headed imbeciles, ghastly insects and biting things, the unrelenting tedium of scruffy dreary scenery, the discordant cacophony of agricultural equipment, the incessant buzzing of two-stroke engines, barking dogs and the perpetual presence of toothless drunken morons cadging dosh at every juncture.

On reflection maybe Builth Wells might be a better option.

I can honestly say that I prefer all the 'ghastly insects and biting things' to living in a shit-hole. Surely Thegent, you surely must know what kind of a hole you live in?
I can only stick Pattaya for a few days before I miss the smell of buffalo shit and sounds of the temple tannoy system on Buddha Day.
Is yer missus a country bumpkin, or city born and raised?
