    Marriage visa Singapore??

    Marriage visa?
Need to renew visa in KL ..Requires 100k baht in Thai bank..done it before but given the state of LOS … I now prefer not to do. Was thinking that I would be better to try Singapore. Website does not specifically mention marriage visas. Anyone been there done that recently..What requirements?

Seems unlikely Singapore would waive the financial requirement. I assume that's what you're looking for although you don't actually say it very clearly.

Surely Cambodia would be the place?

    I second Dillinger's suggestion.
FWIW: That Thai Consulate/Embassy in Singapore can be one way pricks to people even with correct documentation. The thai related forums on the inter-web have a LOT of posts where people tried Singapore but came off the rails. They are marginally easier for Singaporeans or people who hold P/R status there.

I'd say give Singapore a pass..

FWIW: cyrille, there are no official financial requirements that all embassies/consulates follow for people wanting to secure a year long multi-entry Non-Immigration Type-O visa based on marriage to a thai national. The different criteria are just cooked up by the individual consulate or embassy <- hence the reason there is no rhyme or reason.

Oh and NOT to be overly pedantic, you're NOT renewing your visa, you're buying a totally new one.

    crepitas;

You don't want to go to Cambodia. You'll get shot down there for sure.

You want the thai embassy/consulate at either Vientiane or Savannakhet Lao. Neither of those two require financials, just the marriage certificates (Kor Ror 2 & 3) a copy of your thai wife's i/d and her house book.

I'd say go to Savannakhet, as there are far less people using it.

You can use the fly-n-ride program of either Air Asia or Nok Air. They fly you from Bangkok to Nakhon Phanom and then they mini van you to the Indochine Market in Mukdahan (it's about 4 kilometers from the border).

    Good Luck..

Airfare 25k ++ 6 hour + flight. Guess will bite the bullet and transfer the required 100k+ .
    KL Air Asia round trip +- 5k, 1.40 hours ..hotel 1200 bt/night.
    Thanks all

^ Why are you going to KL, you nutter, savannakhet is the only place you can go to get a Non O marriage visa based on marriage, without having to show any funds.

Fly with Nok Air, their fly and ride van takes you from Ubon Ratchatani and drops you off at a hotel in Mukdahan. I forgot the name of the hotel.
That'll cost you about 1,000 to 1,500 baht from Bangkok, I dunno where you live, so look for yourself
fly Thai Domestic budget flight with professional-friendly service | Nok Air

Then go the bus depot in Mukdahan to take you over the border

As Tod says, Air Asia do one as well from Nakhon Phanom.

crepitas; I understand you live in Trang, so a flight from Bangkok to Nakhon Phanom then a mini bus on to Mukdahan & Savannakhet isn't the easiest thing to do logistically.

    BUT

I don't think that KL will even issue year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type-O visas for marriage to a thai national..

Everything I've read (granted via googling) shows that KL will only issue a 90 day single-entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai and they want 400K banked..

If you're gonna deposit 100K, Penang's the place for you to go. Especially from Trang..

    Good Luck

Even without the considerations tod mentions Penang is vastly quicker, easier and cheaper than KL.

    More enjoyable too imo.

I've done the Penang run about a dozen times and the KL one once.

Have gotten IMMO Marriage (4x3 month ie 1 year) twice in KL.
Does anyone have specific experience of getting latter in Penang as I was told by them when I tried that they do not issue (when I was there a couple of times years ago for 3 month visa before I was married.) and I had to go to KL. ?

Penang 100,000 baht in bank overnight service. Savannakhet no financials overnight service. KL no way
