Using My Second Uk Passport , Thailand

Does anyone on this board have a second UK passport and if so how do you use it?

My situation is that I have 2 UK passports and my Thai visa extension is in my 1st passport. I am going to send my 2nd passport to a UK visa service to make an application for a Saudi business visa. (It is very difficult to get a visa for Saudi in Thailand, due to past relations between the 2 Countries).
My question is will I have a problem re entering Thailand on my 1st passport, as it will not have an exit stamp from Saudi? This will of course be in my 2nd passport.

Any constructive advice is welcome thanks.

Before you send you passport any where you need to go to thai Immergration
& get them to stamp into your new book to change passport numbers.

This is the first thing you need to do.

Sorry if the spelling is of a I don't have me glass on

You will have no problem using your first passport without an exit stamp from Saudi. Thai Immigration don't care where you've just come in from and they understand that many people have a number of passports.

Rat, as usual, completely misses the point.

    Totally correct.

I travel on 2 UK passports, and I often stamp out of one country on one, and then in to the next country on the other. I do this from Singapore/Thailand and Dubai/Thailand on a very regular basis. Never have a question asked. Both of your passports are linked to one another on the computer systems anyway.

Thanks English Noodles for the confirmation. It looks like I am good to go then.

I also have to due to work:
1 I use for Africa entry and exit, the other, with my extension based on retirement in for Thailand entry and exit. I do this as the africans love to plaster stamps everwhere they can...my 10 year passport has just lasted 3 years!

For info, I have renewed both over the last 3 months and actually entered and left on one that was cancelled!!!

    word of caution

I had a valid 1 year visa in one passport, which was near expiry but I wanted to use it up

I had a new 1 year visa put into the other passport

there was a lot of confusion when re-entering Thailand - it was lucky I had both with me
    I have reported your post

Thanks for the info Andy. I will always carry the 2 together given that is that my second passport is not at an Embassy waiting for a visa.

for work reasons I used to have two passports. I always used one for entering and leaving thailand and a mix of them to entering and leaving other countries. I never had a problem anywhere.

However I did have the passport I used to enter thailand stolen a week before my entry stamp expired.... so no time to get a replacement from the british embassy.
I thought no problem just follow the usual procedure and have the entry stamp transferred to my second passport rather than a new one. It turns out that the lady at immigration who does this; makes a very interesting interpretation of the thai rules/laws covering this issue and will only transfer the stamp to a new unused passport with a start date after the date you report the loss/theft of the original passport.

fortunately for me better half likes me enough to seagull the issues I had at immigration, but I would say this is the only issue you might ever have with thailand and having two passports with the same identity details.

Thanks for the input Hazz. I will be careful not to get in the same situation as these are the things that I am concerned about.
