Best consulate for multi-entry tourist visa?

I need to cancel a work-permit and get out of the country within 24 hours; according to Thai law.

The plan is to get a flight to the consulate who is least biased in the way of giving multi-enttry tourist visas.

In my experience, Penang were strict, Laos was OK..

Anybody recently acquired a multi-entry tourist visa? An if so, where is the best place to get one>

    Thanks in advance

Anyone have any specifics on this. My 3x entry from Canada runs out in July. I am looking at getting a 1 year multiple with no money in a Thai bank. Can it be done?? Anyone with details on what is needed, documentation etc...? I had read on a thread somewhere that can be done in Savanakhet.

Any chance Phnom Phen would be up there as a possible place to secure one, with relative ease that is?

Probably the most anti-westerner embassy in the region.

I will probably soon apply for some kind of long term visa and being a HK resident, applying in HK seems to be the natural thing to do. So you say HK is a bad place to apply for visa ?

The hk consulate is fine if you are a HK resident. its just everyone else don't want to deal with, and they make that very clear.

7 days after the WP and visa is cancelled is something in which you would have to pay for.

I vaguely remember this is correct, but that you can go and get an extension 7 days at immigration for 1900B. Persoanlly I would recommend that you do the visa run as quickly as possible as its april can be a very expensive time to fly anywhere

For my last two work permits that were cancelled there was no visa cancelation and I was able to stay until the date printed in my passport. (Well over 6 months)

As for getting a new non-b for a new work permit, I had problems twice last year in Ho Chi Minh and once in Vientiene. All three times for missing paper work. In the end I was sent to KL with exactly the same paper work and had no issues.

^ Maybe you just didn't get caught on your exit.

As I understand it, the visa the WP was issued on, is invalidated by not having the job anymore, either by quitting or being fired.

Generally the visa is issued before the job hence the visa is still valid after the job (assuming it has not expired).

You are talking about a permission to stay extension based on employment, this is what gets canceled.

If the job was with a BOI company you have 7 days to exit the country, if it was not a BOI company you have 24hrs.

Depends why the extension was issued.
If it was issued on the grounds of you working then it will be cancelled.

If you have an extension based on marriage and a WP then when you finish working the WP will be cancelled but the extension is still valid.
