    Marriage Visa vs Non B?

The wife and I three years ago had a family wedding, it's yet to be registered at the Amphur. Are there any advantages with a marriage visa? Can i work on this or do i still have to have a Non B? Additionally, do you still have to report every 3 months with a marriage visa?

I'm sure this has been asked a dozen time but the search facility on this forum is bobbins!

You still have to report your address if you stay in Thailand for more than 90 days.

Someone (might have been Spin) posted that the rules are changing Jan 2013 and that it would be to your advantage to wait before getting married

I have zero knowledge on the marriage visa but I thought a non B visa requires a border run every 90 days unless you are on an extension.

Every alien who stays in Thailand for more than 90 days must report their address.
The type of visa or extension does not matter

^I've never done a border run on a NOn B, always reported to immigration. Haven't left the country in 3 years on my non B.

My understanding from years ago (now am on an extension based on employment) when I was on a Non B was that I only had 90 day entry stamps, then I had to do a border run and get a new entry stamp.

Seems this has changed now, good to hear someone in Immigration finally came to their senses.

What are the advantages of waiting until 2013 before getting married?

If immigration keep to their usual standards then the details will be announced the day after they become effective

So if someone were thinking about getting married prior to Jan. 2013, there are no known current disadvantages?

You would have to have left the country to renew the Non B, or as I suspect you are on an extension.

If you are on an extension you do 90 day reporting.
If you are on a non B visa you do the 90 day border run.

It's amazing how folks continue to get 'visa' mixed up with 'extension'.

There is no such animal as a Marriage Visa nor Retirement Visa etc.

Correct, first you obtain a Non Immigrant visa then apply for an extension based on either retirement or marriage (if you meet the requirements).
