    re-enter Thailand after overstay .

    Hi everyone ,
My friend left Thailand a few months ago to work in Australia .
When he left he had overstayed for 2 years and payed the necessary fine involved .
He would like to return to Thailand but is concerned that the overstay that he incurred previously
will actually prevent him from getting back into the country .
Does anyone know the rules/regulations concerning this situation .
    Thanks in advance ,
    Rawky .

To be sure, he could get a new passport after sticking his old one in the washing machine. New passport, new number.

A guy I knew went out via Phuket with 3.5 years overstay. paid the fine, got the stamp but as the calculator batteries were dead he just put 180 days on the stamp. he then flew to Penang where the next day he got a Non B tourist visa and flew back to Thailand the next day without a worry. Your mate will have no hassle.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !
