I have non immigrant 'o' visa -multiple entry. Have to do visa run every 90 days -
Is there a maximum number of times I can do a visa run to Laos during year of the visa? (someone told me you can only do the Laos visa run 3 times )

No restriction
^^as already stated you have no restrictions. what you are concerned about are the issued faced by people trying to stay in thailand long term on back to back tourist visas
If you have a 1 year non immigrant 'o' multiple entry visa you can come and go as many times as you like but if you are staying in Thailand for the full year you must do a boarder run every 90 days.If you leave and come back the day before your visa runs out you will get 90 on re-entering so in fact your visa could last nearly 15 months
thats a relief! many thanks for your comments
^ yes, don't listen to those twats on Thaivisa
Multiple entry visas have no restriction on the number of entries during the time the visa is valid.
As @boloa already mentioned, it's beneficial to you to enter one day before your visa expired, and get the 90-day stamp, so you can effectively stay for 15-months.
SO what happens after the 15 months? Apply for another visa? Does being married to a thai help or change process?
Yes then you can convert it into a marriage visa. But there are loads of requirements that seem to change. I have to cook dinner now but just search marriage visas and you will find it. Or another memember will help. Or best of all Thetyim will be online and give you the gospel.Originally Posted by Sailing into trouble
But yes if you are married you can do it.
I"m coming up to 90 days (end of Jan) for my multiple entry non imm O (based on pension, first entry Nov 2 this year). Can go from Udon to Nong Khai. Questions 1) can I just go over the bridge and come back same day for another 90 day stay, and 2) do I need to advise immigration in Udon that I'm going so visa doesn't get cancelled (or maybe not a good idea to go to them). thanks in advance, Richard
Q1. Yes but you will need a visa to enter Laos.
Q2. No need to tell immigration before you go.
Many thanks for help!
just watch the visa expiry date..just fu 'd up by looking at permission to say date.
...just done a run to KL..what a great city ..cheap transport (trains to embassy and airport and most stuff) and found a nice 2 star hotel downtown near everything 1450 baht per night ..pm me if you care to get more info..
Keep an eye on the blank pages in your passport. Those whole page visas from Laos and Cambodia fill them up darned quick.
Thats put me off the idea of a marriage visa, although I have no idea how they could enforce farangs to cook dinners for their wivesOriginally Posted by aging one
I am looking for advice, i have a non imm 'o' it ends in may 2012, i want to get an extension of stay for 1 year. Im in chiangmai, what i was wondering was can i get an extension of stay in the 90 days after may, if i went out just before it ended?
Secondly my wife has a business, she earns over 40k a month, i could direct this to an account i need to setup, or is it better to have the 400k in a bank for 2-3 months?
I have no income, am not old so no pension, no job in chiangmai, the wife is the only bread winner. Do they just need to see the amount going into a bank account or know where it comes from?
I hope that makes sense?
im hot its so hot today.......milk was a bad choice!

so you have your non-imm "O", and it ends in May
if you go out just before it ends then they will give you another 90 days, yes
an extension of 1 year has nothing to do with that and it is doubtful you can get it, wherever you are. You will need a new visa
I have reported your post

you are the visa man!
Thanks, you are however misunderstanding the situation. If i put 400,000 in the bank in my name which is a requirement, plus being married etc i should get my extension. The question is, if i have to apply within the last 60 days(july-aug), would 2-3 months be adequate?
I have a multiple imm 'o'. Otherwise my wife earns more than the required amount we are as family needed, but i believe this has changed and it has to be in a bank account in my name, again this can go into my bank account, is that all that is needed?
Thanks. For those that know what the snitzel is.

The 400k has to be in your account for two months for a first time extension.
After that it will be 3 months
Thank you, for both your visa and culinary knowledge!
