Smeg, you are a lying little twat. You can say you have as many degrees as you like on an internet forum and you lie constantly.
And fancy you calling anyone 'short'.

Was talking with a friend teaching Math in Roiet and he says there is a big demand for teachers. Math, Science and English taught in English. Salaries range from 34,000 to 40,000 to start. Cost of living (2 BR house rent 4500 baht) in Roiet very low so 20,000 per month a reasonable budget for monthly expenses.

Why is it that TEFLers in Thailand are convinced that everyone else is jealous of them and bitter about not TELFing? Is it necessary for them to puff up their chest in this way to retain any sort of dignity in the face of being the laughing stock of the entire planet?
Lilybean clearly can't cope with my observations and wants me to go away.

Should put a mention in here, if anyone wants to become a tefler in Thailand there is someone advertising fake degrees in the classified section of the forum, they should put you in good steed with your Thai school and save you wasting a couple or more years getting a proper degree
Ahem, they are 'real degrees', from 'real universities' with 'real verification' from 'a real office of the registrar' thank you very much. All have been accepted by the MOE without fail... And only 250 bucks too!!!
Tell me more, Megahorn?
I can't find that last thread again to see if you replied to me.

one of the better universities in thailand recently hired a farang who claimed to have two PhDs....one in linguistics and the other in IT. it turned out he was a fraud and that he got his degrees from a US diploma mill.
in some ways you have to admire his chutzpah....not one PhD but two.

Teacher's salary. If you're living in the province...about 20-25,000 will get you by unless you have a life-threatening disease that requires a lot of maintenance (i.e. medicines, IVs, visiting nurses, etc.).
Bangkok, say 30,000 will get you by. But ironically, you can really survive on provincial salaries if you stay away from the mainstream capitalist garbage and the mass transportation system.
I got me a bus map even before I came to Thailand and saved 1000s of baht on traveling to and from destinations when I lived in Bangkok. The fascinating map is put out for free by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It's a foldaway accordion style map, and I looked like a veritiable butterly hunter with his super specs on holding it through the city like I did.
May have shrugged off the attention of a few cute Thai birds, but saved me a stash! Now I can spend it on Thai birds in the provinces.

think of all the time wasted sitting on buses in the BK traffic - time is money as they say so why not just use the BTS/MRT and put in a couple of extra hours a week.
There are many ways of saving a few pennies here but it's just grim - like drinking Master Blend instead of Heineken -
^ Don't you mean leo instead?
Masterblend is a mixed spirit and there are cheaper brands
Sounds like fun.
People who have to live out here waiting on their teacher's pay check so they can buy their next monthly bus ticket shouldn't be allowed in until they can at least throw up the 20K it cost for a honda wave.
F'ing 'ell.
Why do these people live on the poverty line? Is going home, or even to some other country for a year to earn a few $ to at least have as back up so hard?
Leo is pretty foul beer - but Master Blend must work out cheaper in regards to alcohol content.Originally Posted by good2bhappy
