    USA Today Newspaper

I never hear anyone mentioning this as being either to the left or right. Okay its not mucgh of a paper but it can be found across the nation and on the net and it has been around a couple decades already. What is your opinion on it? Have you ever heard any criticism of it?

I think it belongs to the Gannett group of newspapers which are typically right of center in perspective. Not much substance, not really a serious newspaper.

Does it get that much coverage in the states? How about the Christian Science Monitor or VOA?

It's basically a 'McNewspaper'- a 'dumbed down' version of the news for people who like their articles short and simple and have no interest is gaining a deeper understanding or delving into the peripheral details of what's happening in the USA or the rest of the world.

The CSM is actually a pretty good news source but a bit dry like the Beeb.

USA Today has besides a good (or used to, haven't seen one in years) weather page, a decent Sports section. Rest of it is definitely worthy of the bottom of your bird cage.

^^Right on the money. It is everywhere in the US, however, but so are dumb people.

I don't mind the sports section. I only read it when I am traveling as it is free in most hotels.

It's a soundbite newspaper. Very short articles, with generalities. Kind of like a comic book (I'm trying to be serious.)

It's shallow and for a quick read. That's the purpose of it, IMO.
