This is interesting, and being ethanol, could also be used in the making of Hong Tong.

Scientists just accidentally discovered a process that turns CO2 directly into ethanol - ScienceAlert

If it had legs, I would expect Chevron shares to tank.

An interesting process, if true. However it does not produce energy. It converts electric energy to chemical energy or a raw product for the chemical industry. The energy still needs to be produced with solar panels or maybe nuclear. No point in making that electricity with conventional power plants that burn carbohydrates, or worse, coal. If the catalyst is cheap enough it can work on excess electricity when solar or wind power produce more than the grid needs.

    ___________

From the science denier Roy Spencer on October 2016

The Version 6.0 global average lower tropospheric temperature (LT) anomaly for October 2016 is +0.41 deg. C, down a little from the September value of +0.44 deg. C

To see how we are now progressing toward a record warm year in the satellite data, the following chart shows the average rate of cooling for the rest of 2016 that would be required to tie 1998 as warmest year in the 38-year satellite record:

Based upon this chart, it would require strong cooling for the next two months to avoid 2016 being a new record-warm year (since the satellite record began in 1979) in the UAH dataset.

    ___________

The whatsupwiththat (another science denier) site has the recovery date starting at August 2015

Their next line,……..we haven’t had any significant warming in 15 months

    __________

From the RSS site (October 2016 not included)

'New era of climate change reality' as emissions hit symbolic threshold

CO2 in the atmosphere is expected to be above 400 parts per million on average over 2016 and will not dip below that mark for generations, UN says

The world is in a new era of “climate change reality”, with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere reaching a symbolic threshold which it will not fall below for many generations, scientists have said.

In 2015, for the first time, carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere were at 400 parts per million (ppm) on average across the year as a whole, the World Meteorological Organisation’s (WMO) annual greenhouse gas bulletin reveals.

The longest established greenhouse gas monitoring station in the world, at Mauna Loa in Hawaii, predicts carbon dioxide concentrations will stay above the symbolic 400ppm for the whole of 2016 and reach new highs.

Around two-thirds of the warming effect, known as radiative forcing, by long-lived greenhouse gases comes from carbon dioxide.

Levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere stood at around 278ppm before the industrial revolution, a concentration which the WMO said represented a natural balance on Earth.

Human activities have altered the natural balance and in 2015 global average levels of carbon dioxide were 44% above pre-industrial levels.

    _________

carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere are higher than they have been at any time in the past 400,000 years.

    _________

It has been a really unprecedented year for global climate action

From the Paris agreement to a new deal on another kind of greenhouse gas, the world is doing a lot to slow climate change.

The past few months have seen a historic amount of global climate action, from the official entry into force of the Paris climate agreement to a landmark agreement to begin limiting emissions from the international aviation industry.

Now, mark another win for global climate action: On Saturday, representatives from almost 200 countries agreed to a new deal to reduce emissions from the world’s fastest growing greenhouse gas — hydrofluorocarbons.

Hydrofluorocarbons — or HFCs — are the gases currently used in refrigeration and air conditioning. And while they help keep certain items cool, they also threaten to heat up the world, with 1,000 times the heat trapping properties of carbon dioxide. According to scientists, continued use of HFCs in air-conditioners would be enough to raise global temperatures one full degree Fahrenheit by the end of the century.

“In less than 12 months, American leadership has brought the world together to craft two historic agreements that represent a global turning point in our fight to tackle climate change,” Michael Brune, director of the Sierra Club, said in a statement. “While we have much more work to do, the significance of these diplomatic achievements cannot be overstated.”

So where are the zero emission mandates, proposals for petrol and plastic rationing?
When will the massive subsidies for the meat/dairy industries be lifted?
When will the rainforest be replanted?
Sustainable eight food crop rotation agriculture, any talk about that?

    I thought not....

I'll understand this when I understand how a motocycle parked in a barn in France for three years is making carbon emissions.

Perhaps gathering dust is now considered a carbon emission by our progressive libtards.

I've read with interest the number of members alarmed by climate change, and would like to ask them.

You have also stated in previous posts dams producing that electricity should be taken out.

    My carbon footprint is tiny.

My methane footprint on the other hand is the size of Sasquatch.

A trump election will bring a huge investigation, the truth shall be revealed and careers will be ended, some may even go to jail.

btw on the site that cannot be named today climatedepot.com has an interesting article on Hudson bay polar bears, where for the last 30 years global warming has been driving them to extinction. Strangely the population is growing, fat and healthy and easy for the BBC to film while commenting on how they are going extinct without wondering about how easy it is to film them in there huge and healthy numbers. Puzzling one isn't it.

Typical BBC, they are losing credibility, those Hudson Bay Polar Bears are so extinct that thousands of tourists turn up every year to take pictures of them from tourist snow buses. It's as busy as the Maasai Mara in Kenya

You're a pair of fucking idiots.
Today, it is estimated that there are approximately 26,000 polar bears throughout the Arctic. The Western Hudson Bay subpopulation of polar bears is currently stable, as the length of the ice-free season has shown recent short-term stability. However, past increases in the length of the ice-free season have caused declines in the number of bears, with subadults having a higher mortality rate than adults.

These scare mongers still run away from posting about how nothing in the 30 years of global warming crisis matches or beats the dust bowl of the 30s which was totally normal, sadly so. Its all scare mongering from the allaiance of the left wing media, left wing politicians, Washington elite and now the left wing science, with the single purpose of controlling us and sucking more money from us.

Time to wake up and smell the coffee, hurricanes at a 150 year low???? Droughts, forest fires at a 25 year low???? Year after year the world puts out record crops increases??? And all during a 30 year climate crisis??? I don't think so.
