Are there jobs in the US?

Okay I know that things are 'bad' there but are there any jobs available in the US? I heard Ford was going to hire 2,000 new people for one of its plants so it seems like there is some economic activity. The reason I am asking this is because I am thinking more and more about getting out of Thailand because I am just bored with it in many ways. I've worked in Thailand as a teacher for over a decade and all the fun with this type of work has passed. I'm also bored with the food and the politics. At the same time, I miss western culture.

So my question is what's the job situation. Are there lines in the streets for soup? All I hear is the negative news which seems to be coming from every political group in the US.

Lots. Log on to any number of help wanted/job sections in newspapers across the country or submit resume to recruitment agency. Simply boils down to your qualifications or prospect of a job you feel is below your level of acceptance.

Thanks Norton. I'll check that out. I don't have a plan yet so I could go anywhere in the states if I do end up going back. I just wanted to hear from people who actually were in the US. Not only is it hard to predict the economy's direction; it's hard to get the truth about the US out here in Thailand. Maybe I follow too many different news sources. I'm overloaded!
