Tony Blair and the labour party in a pickle

How about some British domestic politics.

8 labour MP's resigned yesterday over Tony Blair's refusal to name the day of his departure.

Gordon brown and Tony Blair can no longer be in the same room as one another without coming close to fisticuffs.

Most labour party memebers feel that if Blair doesn't go now, the labour party are handing the next election to the fuking tories.

An announcement expected today in an effort to sort out this mess.

Blair was my favourite politician up untill he started listening to that fecker Bush. I even voted for the labour back in 2000 (or was it 2001?).

I think a lot of this is linked directly to his unanimous support for Bush, he has never listened to the back benchers or the party feelings.
    Certainly time for a change.

    Gordon Brown has balls.

Apparently even the British Army brass are telling Blair that if the UK doesn't send more soldiers to Afghanistan that the war is lost there.

Is he willing to send more overseas at a critical time like this?

I tell you, Blair is no Maggie Thatcher.

I think in the Reagan-Thatcher relationship that she likely wore the pants.

Now Tony's the one sitting in George's lap.

I think what's ruined Blair more is not the unpopular war but the feeling that he's a puppet with no spine. Am I correct?

To tell you the truth, i don't follow British politics that closely, but have been listening to the developements on BBC radio.

None of the MP's interviewed have actually come out and said that he was a puppet, just that they think he's a lame duck PM whose position has become totally untenable.

True - and he's not Camilla Parker Bowles either.

The British are far more concerned about the number of Afghan refugees in Britain than the number of British soldiers in Afghanistan.

Not humour at all - merely pointing out that as a yank Surasak was unable to recognise Maggies photo when he was looking for one to stick Blairs face onto.

Time for a street party then.

Why don't people realise that "Labour Fucks You Up"?

Time for proper politicians to run things for a while.

I'm very well aware of what Maggie looks like (it's harder than you think matching up faces given the colors, sizes, angles, etc). I just found one at the moment of CPB that matched Blair's face.

Mr Miliband also confirms reports that he was "seriously worried" about Mr Blair's refusal to call for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon last month.
the only mention of foreign policy issues from the resignees.

Thankfully Tony Blair will be around until May 2007. He's a good PM. One of the best.

I think that is looking highly unlikely right now SK.

If he has any sense, which I doubt, he''ll have to go a lot sooner than that.

And the coalition might crumble even further....

It would be nice if we could recall our Presidents that easily.

That'll be OK. There really isn't much of a Coalition anway ... the US is pretty much carryin' the load.

Just give me 2 more years of GWB and I'll be good to go.

I don't know why bin Laden is hiding anyway ... the US Army couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 30 feet anyway.

Blair has to go. That CNN live mic fuckups just confirmed what we all thought. There were no way he was going to get away with this after the G8 disaster and the Israeli invasion. He is nothing to the Americans, just a lapdog.

This is sad because I really liked Tony. He had visions, leadership, a practical socialist. It will be a sad day when he goes, but he puts himself in a corner by following the American fool. Som na na.

Farewall Tony, you were the best PM since Churchill.

Sorry to hear that. I truly am.

I was kinda under the impression that the Brits and UN were running the show in Afghan now. Not ?

Actually they do. Torries are the worst. Bunch of fuckups. They are the same as Labour back in the 70s. No mandate, no plan.
