Two Graphs Showing, Decisively, That Obamacare Is Not Creating a Permanent Part-Time America - Derek Thompson - The Atlantic
Since Obamacare was signed, part-time workers have increased by just 2 percent. Full-time workers have increased by 5 percent.
^
That flies in the face of reality.
Again, 75% of all new jobs created this year are part-time jobs...
Reuters reported Wednesday that, while the US economy created around 1 million new jobs this year, three-quarters of these jobs are part-time. Most are in the low-wage retail and restaurant sector. Concerns over ObamaCare and its health insurance mandate is the prime driver of the push to part-time employment

Whatever, dude.

Obamacare Strikes At Forever 21 Which Forcibly Demotes Some Workers To 29.5 Hours Per Week
A firestorm broke out during the weekend over the latest part-timing impact from Obamacare this time in the form of a leaked memo by retailer Forever 21, which announced that some employees would be demoted to part-time status. The memo, which announced forcible part-time changes would take place on August 18 with full loss of benefits to take place by August 31, was leaked by a disgruntled employee on their Facebook page.
The highlight from the memo:
"Company-wide, Forever 21 recently audited its staffing levels, staffing needs and payroll in conduction with reviewing its overall spending budget. As a result, we are reducing a number of full-time non-management positions.... As a Part-Time employee your regular schedule will not exceed 29.5 hours per week."
Forever 21's prompt response to understandable fury by the confused broader public: it only impacts a tiny 1% of all employees and is in no way related to the "Affordable" Care Act.Obamacare Strikes At Forever 21 Which Forcibly Demotes Some Workers To 29.5 Hours Per Week | Zero Hedge
Thank you for reaching out Jessy. Forever 21, like all retailers, staffs its stores based on projected store sales, completely independent of the Affordable Care Act. After a recent evaluation, Forever 21 realigned its staffing needs to better reflect sales expectations. This realignment impacted less than 1% of all U.S. store employees. Forever 21 values all of its employees and made every effort to affect as few employees as possible in this realignment.
And since there is no way to independently verify the veracity of the statement, one should accept it on pure faith. Like most other things these days.
So what's it gonna be? Your own bias vs. the facts?

UPS drops spousal coverage, teachers get hours cut due to ObamaCareUnited Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News.
The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act’s effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.
Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees."

Pathetic...
But....Healthcare Works So Well Over There We're Told.....
"Last month, Sir Bruce Keogh, medical director of the NHS, issued a forensic report, commissioned by the government, which found that 14 under-performing hospitals in England had substandard care, contributing to the needless deaths of nearly 13,000 people since 2005
Earlier this year, it was reported that a single hospital in Staffordshire recorded 1,400 "excess" deaths.Following the July report, letters from patients and relatives of those who died flooded in to newspapers, Sky News and the BBC. Many confirmed poor treatment, if in fact they or their loved ones were able to receive timely care at all. The lack of adequate nursing staff, cuts to elder care budgets and a rise in immigrant populations are a few of the factors that have exacerbated the problem......""What happens when big, lumbering, inefficient government seeks to provide health care. Why should the U.K.'s horrid experience with NHS matter to Americans?Because if, in a much smaller country horror stories abound, how much worse could it be when our big, lumbering, inefficient government launches Obamacare? What impact will it have on U.S. hospitals and health care providers? Instead of merely mandating insurance coverage to the uninsured, will our government eventually begin dictating what surgeries and treatments it will pay for based on what a bureaucrat deems cost-effective?It's only a short step from overseeing health insurance to more intrusive oversight of medical care in general.Everyone in the U.K. might have access to health care, but they are often forced to accept inferior health care. Will Obamacare result in Americans patiently waiting four-and-a-half months between a referral and an appointment with a specialist or surgeon? Will Americans have to wait weeks, or months, for treatment or surgery, in some cases, risking death? With Obamacare scheduled to begin phasing-in on Oct. 1, in order to avoid what Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., has called a "train wreck," these questions need answers." - CAL THOMAS, Washington Examiner

Health Care
About 19 million young adults across the country lack basic health insurance coverage. Although young people are often healthy, they do need medical care for preventive treatment, regular check-ups, and occasional health hiccups. Many of them also have costly chronic conditions. Yet rising health insurance premiums price millions of young Americans out of the market. Thankfully the Affordable Care Act (ACA) promises to make health care affordable and accessible to young adults across the country. Already, more than 3 million previously uninsured young adults have joined their parent’s health insurance plan. On October 1, 2013, millions more will be able to shop for coverage on a new, online Health Insurance Marketplace, where they can compare plans side-by-side and apply for a new kind of tax credit to lower their costs. In 2014, 17 out of 19 million currently uninsured young Americans could be eligible for free or reduced cost coverage through expanded Medicaid and tax credits.

Police: Ore. man robs bank for $1 to get free health care in jail,
Washington Post 26th Aug
A man robbed a bank in Clackamas, Ore., on Friday morning, but only asked for $1 before sitting down and waiting for police to take him away.
Tim Alsip, 50, gave the Bank of America teller a note that said, “This is a holdup. Give me a dollar,” said Mark Nikolai with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
The man then took the dollar, sat down in the lobby and waited for police to arrive, a local TV station reported.
Officers said they have dealt with Mr. Alsip several times over the past week when he complained of dental problems. They said his stunt Friday was pulled probably as a way to go back to jail to receive free medical care.
“His behavior today is consistent with the behavior he has displayed over the last week,” the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
