i don't even know where to begin with this increasingly bizarre story.
the republican governor of south carolina recently disappeared for 5 days, and the explanation of his whereabouts is more than a bit perplexing. and about 24 hours ago his office released a statement that has only muddied the waters even more.
according to his office (which had no idea where he was at the time), the gov. went hiking...alone....on the appalachian trail. he didn't inform anyone in his family, or anyone on his staff, or the lieutenant governor, or even his security detail....he just left to go on a 4 day hike.
and keep in mind that this past weekend was father's day....but he didn't even tell his family where he was going.....or even that he was going somewhere.
strange? in the parlance of the gov. of alaska....'you betcha!'.
but it gets even more curious......his car was found at an airport in atlanta, and a federal agent witnessed him getting on a plane. FYI, that airport is over 80 miles from the start of the applachian trail.
of course there's more to this story, and i can't wait for it to come out.....because if their cover story is this bizarre, the truth must be amazing.
