    Governor Bobby Jindal

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has been picked (unofficially) by the GOP as the next rising politician on the national stage for the Republicans.

In the GOP's attempt to change its brand to provide young, "fresh" people, Jindal has been on the national TV circuit (Meet the Press) and delivered the response to Obama's State of the Union address.

He the non-stereotypical GOP politician. He's also, only 37 years old.

Here is an interview, with more info and interviews with him to follow.

Here's is part of Jindal's response to the State of the Union address. The State of the Union address is carefully orchestrated propaganda. And so is this response below. Lots of abstract words and terms. Themes. And the claim to stamp out corruption, and make government responsible:

How so? I'm not challenging, just asking.

Electable for Senate? Does he have the qualities to contend for President? The GOP annoints people to be Presidents. GWB was annointed.

first off, he's a christian nut job.
    Thanks, I didn't know that.

of course it's still early days, but IMO there's no way jindal will be elected president.

if he were to somehow get through the republican primaries (romney and huckabee are plotting as i type), in the general election most americans are not going to elect a guy who believes in intelligent design and exorcism.

Close but no cigar! Palin/Jindal better. Having a half black Prez is old news. Need to break new ground and have the first woman Prez. Besides to get the female vote Palin has to be on top.

^^ yeah, it is funny how jet (of all posters) is demanding links. maybe i should just use her standard reply...."oh, it's my opinon".....or, "oh, i was just joking. 5555"

but links are easy to find when the topic concerns that christian whack job jindal...

even the GOP echo chamber knows about jindal and exorcisms... from today's national review online...

Is This Really the Day to Rehash Jindal's Exorcism Story? - Jim Geraghty - The Campaign Spot on National Review Online

nice title, eh? too late, the story's out.

and here's an article which notes that he supports teaching 'intelligent' design to children...

The Second Coming of Bobby Jindal - TIME

again, there's no way this guy is electable for national office.

at this moment, the GOP is bereft of leaders, legitimate national candidates, and an agenda that isn't simply the knee-jerk opposite of what the dems propose.

in both style and substance, Jindal's speech has drawn flak from Republicans and Democrats alike.

His criticism of government spending for emergency economic relief has been widely panned, especially given his state's receipt of billions in federal assistance after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. And Jindal's voice and earnest, awkward delivery have drawn comparisons to Kenneth Parcell, the geeky page on the NBC comedy "30 Rock."

Indeed, a new Facebook group titled "Bobby Jindal is Kenneth the Page" had already attracted more than 1,800 members Wednesday afternoon.

Its' bad enough that Jindal has the speaking style of a high school kid running for class president. Add to that his weird religious background involving exorcisms and snake-handling Pentecostals.

But the worst thing about him is that he is simply regurgitates very old Republican ideas regarding less government and lower taxes for everybody. He reaffirms that the Republicans are a one-trick pony that wants to continue the disastrous policies of George Bush. Less government is a good idea in normal times, but not when the US private sector is rampant with mismanagement and corruption and the economy verges on collapse.

Yes, it quite sad . . . a new face with the same old bag of goodies: Tax Breaks and Smaller Government.

I can't believe that they simply can't do the sums . . . you spend more on little things like the Iraq War yet want to cut income to pay for these follies . . . It simply doesn't add up.

We should also note the example he gives regarding the rebuilding of New Orleans as all being done by local government and private citizens without the assistance of "big government" is beyond even the most extreme definition of "spin".

The federal government has given Louisiana more than 100 billion to rebuild New Orleans and the levees surrounding it. Guess it would not be convenient to mention this in the context of the Republican platform of small government.

Liberal media is terrified of the Jindal/Palin phenomena.
Watch and enjoy how they proceed and continue the spurious crusade to crucify them.

    That was funny.
Let me tell you a story

He must have been addressing future voters.
If that is not the case, I'm now aware why Black Gang never made it to the White House.

    God bless America, please

Jindal has years to run for prez. What is he, 37? How about Michael Steele? He's cute...ok, ok...he speaks well and has good fiscal views. He could run for senate again first.

Yep Jindal can do two terms as governor and ten years in Congress before he runs. That's plenty of time to give him some fashion sense when it comes to choosing his tie. I bet we can blame the tie on his wife.

he'd still be on FIX news if he didn't get 91 votes from cynical, race consciouse GOP insiders.

i don't know why, but sometimes i'm still surprised at how little you truly understand about US politics.
