Bomber hits Paki mosque, kills 7

    CNN
    November 21, 2008

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- A suicide bomber detonated explosives in a mosque in northwest Pakistan during evening prayers Thursday, killing seven people and wounding six others, authorities said.

The attack -- which took place in the Mamond Tehsil area of Bajaur Agency -- occurred during maghrib prayers at dusk, said assistant political agent of Bajaur Agency, Safi Ullah. Bajaur Agency is part of Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

The attack may have targeted a "lashkar," or a tribal militia established to fight militants and the Taliban, Ullah said.

Just winning hearts and minds. Another example of Taliban mentality. Primitive savages interested only in attaining power in the name of God.

I recall the absolute outrage among western media when US troops returned fire to Taliban snipers in a mosque.

But when a Taliban suicide bomber kills seven inside the mosque, it's hardly noticed.

If there was one thing that Bush did right it was that he always was very careful to skirt around the issue of making his so called "war on terror" a religious issue stacking up Muslims against Christians. The Taliban and to a lesser extent Al Qaeda on the other hand, have always tried to portray it as a holey war. The reasons for the different excuses for the clash in ideology is that when it becomes a religious war it encourages Muslims to answer the call of their faith and become more radical. Currently only a small proportion of Muslims are what we would call radicals. If we make it a religious war that proportion would no doubt climb to staggering proportions. Pretty much the exact opposite of what the USA wants or needs in this battle.

Unfortunately, a lot of Yanks have missed the point and are spewing out anti Muslim rhetoric in the hope of justifying their governments and militarises actions. This Muslims verses Christians mentality doesn't really help their cause much at all. In fact it only helps to recruit more conservative Muslims into the doctrines of more radical Muslim leaders opposing USA.

Carry on boys if it make you feel good, but the goals your are scoring are actually home goals. Even an idiot like Bush was smart enough to figure that one out. Or maybe his advisers told him?

Who is scoring goals? I merely made an observation.

If it's an outrage to shoot at a mosque, shouldn't it be at least equally outrageous to set off a bomb inside it? Where are the furious, hair-on-fire comments?

    chirp, chirp...

Why does nobody on Teak Door condemn Muslim-on-Muslim violence?

But did any civillians get killed in that bombing, seems that all the liberals on here are so worried and raise so much hell everytime there is collateral death from any US action.
They do not count Arab on Arab bombings as civillian death I guess only if US does it.
    Sorry bunch of bastards.

Seems when a coalition soldier kills a jihadi Islamic extremist terrorist fighter bent on the destruction of the west and intent on killing any westerner, it's outrage and sympathy for the devil among the TD pacifists.

When a similar jihadi Islamic extremist terrorist fighter walks into a mosque with 20 kilos of C-4 strapped to his waist and blows the place to smithereens -- nobody notices.

Show Us Your Dog's Anal Warts is doing a brisk trade, though. Guaranteed double century before dinnertime. Hypocrites, I say.

Of course every person with any compassion in their heart would condemn this Muslim on Muslim murder of innocents as much as they condemn the US bombing of wedding parties killing innocent women and kids as collateral damage in order to get at "suspected" terrorists. No one in their right mind applauds this kind of murderous slaughter weather its conducted by radical Muslim terrorists or a politically radical led US military.

Highlighting the atrocities of the opposition doesn't make it right to carry out the same kinds of crimes against humanity and shouldn't be taken as an excuse to do so. The people of America may take the deaths of innocent Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq lightly, but every innocent Muslim killed as "collateral damage" multiplies the number of new recruits to the radical Muslim doctrine.
This ain't a John Wayne or Rambo movie and the Yanks need to think very carefully about becoming a recruiting force for their opposition.

If "boys" you are referring to the bomber (Taliban) described in the OP, I agree. The Taliban are scoring own goals. Certainly the victims families will not be enamored with the Taliban.

I don't deny there are collateral deaths. They're unfortunate and regrettable.

But I would expect the same sort of outrage or more for intentional deaths of innocent civilians. It doesn't exist in the papers, on the TV or on this forum. The true colors and hypocrisy are shining through.

Of course it is, but whats your point? If a Taliban or AQ suicide bomber detonates in a mosque, than it's OK for soldiers to do the same?

As for the latest atrocity, it seems to be a Tali attack against militia's, but it's still breaking news. It is this sort of thing that will hasten their defeat anyway, just like Aq's brutality in Iraq soon turned people against them.

    Quite the opposite.

If it's outrageous to shoot at a mosque (returning fire) shouldn't it be even more outrageous to blow up a bomb inside it?

Evidently the person doing the firing is fore more an issue than the act.

    Unfortunate and regrettable!
Hey, these are real women and kids getting blown apart by US air strikes where they never have to see the faces of those they killed. Not like the families who have to bury loved ones, --- wives and kids, brothers and sisters who may now be only body parts.

You think people don't get angry and driven to revenge when someone like you says it was "unfortunate and regrettable"? Sad really there are people like you who don't have any compassion those other than your own countrymen.
