Petrol/Gas Prices in Thailand & ROW

What are the prices at the pump these days in Thailand?
Right now, prices range from C$1.07-1.18 a litre in Vancouver and area. (Hey, and we make the stuff!) That's about Bt33.2-36.6/litre. Premium is C$1.17-1.24 (Bt36.3-38.5). No diesel prices available.

I don't know if someone in the Thai government misunderstood the word "naman", but cooking oil prices continue to rise dramatically, from 26 bt a year ago to 48 yesterday.

Yes, and veg oil prices have went up as well as Thai dump it into diesel and call it Bio-Diesel where everyone else actually does a chemical process on it and does make Bio-Diesel with it.
I watch and everyday the prices of palm oil and all oils for that matter are up on the markets.

^Yep. Impossible to buy cooking oil for less than 64p/litre in UK due to people substituting it for diesel....

To use used fryer oil or new veg oil, it costs you about 50 cents a gallon to make bio diesel, but just dumping in 5% palm oil in a gallon of pump diesel is not making bio diesel.

Rising petrol prices are causing inflation world wide, even in the Middle East, and people are getting a bit unsettled by it.

So Bio diesel in Thailand is just veg oil and regular diesel mixed together? I used to use 50% not 5%

^ You can use it straight if you want to and the weather is warm enough as it is thicker and will not atomize right.
But true bio diesel has all the bad shit taken out, burning the glycerine is not the best thing to do inside your engine and I think that bio diesel is a better fuel than petro diesel before thinking of the green issues of burning it.
But with the depletion of the rain forests to make room for oil palms is very hard on the environment as well as the oil prices going up and the poor can not afford it anymore, soy, corn, oil plants of all kinds are cutting into the food shortages and cost increases, so kind of like wiping your ass on a hoop.

They tighten their belts, and will make tough necessity choices.

The issue of a weak dollar + inflation is an issue that affects some retired Farang Americans in Thailand also, depending on how their finances are.
