you also might be more likely to live after a gunshot wound in the US
I was just replying to the earlier post about Thailand and providing the link that was probably used.
The figure for violent crimes wouldn't cover accidents and suicides and USA is way ahead when it comes to overall deaths by firearm.
As Baldrick mentions, USA is also ahead when it comes to patching up gunshot wounds.
Very true. Without spending a morning on Google I seem to recall that over 80,000 people a year in the US survive a gunshot wound, a ratio very roughly of 2 survive to 1 who dies. Although the headlines are often the killings, it might be worse for some of the survivors, those who suffer life-changing injuries with physical and mental damage. It is all shocking.
I have little patience with the naysayers who claim that the problem is too hard to fix. The politicians just need to get up off their complacent, fat arses and do something useful for the people. This should be above party politics, it is about humanity. Over the next decade more than a million people in the US will get shot: all someone's children.

One step.

Never going to happen. Go back and have a look at the arsenal in the photo on page 1 of this thread, he's got everything up to and including a pair of flame throwers and they're all perfectly legal ffs! How do you think he (and the rest) will respond when someone tells them they have to hand over their weapons of war and they can now only own a bolt-action hunting rifle with a 5 shot magazine. No hand guns either!
Repeat: never going to happen.
You need a license to drive a car or motorcycle, and a license to cook and serve food. Years ago my pilot's license was suspended as I had been prescribed a drug that was not completely through the approval process. All those licenses to make sure you don't hurt someone just in case. For a device though that can kill for sure? Here, have a gun.

Echoing Stephen Colbert’s sentiments....
There's a mass shooting every day lately, just read about some guy shooting up a good ol boy bar.
