While there have been many problems between Poles and Ukrainians, it seems both counties are trying to move on from then - and indeed I get the feeling that Poland would give its left nut to line up along side Ukraine on the battle field.

I would think that the events of Katyn forest still loom large over Poland.......

I don't understand this comment. I was under the impression Königsberg was part of Prussia since around 17C. It then became part of the federal states of Germany until the end of WW2. It was given to Russia as part of the peace process where it has remained since. It is home to the Russian Baltic fleet so is unlikely to be taken from Russia.
