If we are visited by aliens does that disprove the existance of God?

Students today told me that they don't believe in aliens because they are christians. This got me thinking , not wisest thing to happen but it did.

If we are one day visited by aliens, friendly or otherwise will that mean that the story behind the bible is disproved or will it just get a quick rewriting?

It will quickly be 'explained' away by some obscure reference to the bible.

That's the beauty of religion you see, it's not meant to be taken literally. Unless it is actually meant to be taken literally. What I like to call the 'Dinosaur-Explanation-Equation'.

In the Old and New Testament there was no discussion of life on other planets/solar systems.

But the Earth was also created in 7 days.

Quirrel: why are so many Koreans Christians?

    When did this start?

Yay for the Lord said unto him, 'There is not Extraterrestial life but for in my Kingdom'. And the truth was then known unto him, E.T. was a great big puddle of blasthemous piss and the Lord saw unto it that Steven Spielberg should never covet they false idol of the Golden Oscar(TM). And there was much rejoicing.

    Not sure if this is just a coincidence or a proof of the existence of God but Leviticus 19:15 actually says;

I read that to mean equal billable hours to all, regardless of age, race, creed, or income status. It feels good to being doing the lords work.

If an extraterrestial did visit Earth, I have no doubt some would try to convert it to Christianity. Did Jesus die for the sins of Xmognakh too?

Probably, but last I heard Xmognakh was a Differentiated Zabunxian Lagementarian so he's going to hell anyway.

    I didn't say that.

I said there was not discussion.

Howeve, I stand to be corrected. You are much more knowledgable than I, and although I took some courses on the old and new Testicle, I didn't recall extraterrestrial life in it.

    Does is disccuss it?

I wasn't replying to you Milky, I was replying to the OP . Anyway, it doesn't say in the bible whether aliens exist or not, therefore my point was how can a christian say that, based on scripture, he doesn't believe in aliens when scripture says bugger all about them one way or the other? That point refers to the opinion expressed by the Korean student in Mrs Q's post and not to anything you posted.

The whole book is about a dude that came from a father not of this world, who could cheat death, perform miracles, and basically act very non human, surely Jesus is the ultimate extra terrestrial?

The guy even left the show in a tractor beam.

Erich von Daniken made a fortune with biblical quotations from the bible telling of alien visits. Ezekiel 1:1-28!

I heard that one member of the away-team, Ensign Judas, was wearing a red shirt. Always a bad sign in the Federation.

I kinda look at it like this. If there is a God, and he's the kind like in the Bible, he probably only gave earthlings a redacted version of the whole picture. In other words, he led them to believe they are the only creatures in the Universe. Probably figured they couldn't handle more info than that.

At the same time, he probably handed Alien and his buddies their own version that said they were the only creatures, etc.. etc..

So, one day there will be a clash of the Universe and all God's creatures will stare at one another and say "allay na?"

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

In other words, God created everything, including aliens. And when humans land on the moon or Mars, are we not aliens too, on those worlds?
