    2020 US Presidential Race

1/ First there will be many.

2/ Whittled down to a few.

3/ Then there will be two ... well two with a serious shot at the title.

    ---

First there will be many ...

Me? My thoughts? This is the Democrats election to lose.

I hope they choose a candidate who is not from the far left.

Someone with the policy position of a Joe Biden, but with the charisma of say a Kamala Harris.

May the voters of the USA choose wisely this time

Dem's need to look real hard at their past successes and do the same again....e.g. obama, jfk....non-geezer candidates

Yeah someone like Yang or possibly Bernie might stand a chance.
I'm not on that Trump Train and I think he's looking at only one-term as president if he keeps going the way he's going.

Not old enough......[/QUOTE]Not nearly old enough. She needs a couple of decades worth of experience and battle scars. Although I like the fact she won her seat, I don't know if she would be a future contender.
Mind you, it is the US political system, so maybe.

She can't be President until 2028. I assume she can run before she's 35, but she can't be President until she is.

Six years too early as a president needs to be at least 35 years old. That's what the rule book says.

Never knew that there was an age limit to be POTUS, shame not an upper age limit also.

For entertainment purposes it would be a gas watching her debate Trump. She would have him seething, muttering under his breath ... probably just totally lose it!

All the other candidates would try to stay in character ... appear Presidential. She’d be wagging her fingers at him and disrespecting him in ways he wouldn’t know what she was saying exactly. I bet she learned how to talk smack with the best of them as a bartender.

^Election is November 2020 - 21 months away. The circus has already begun...in fact, never ended from last election.

Bloomberg had a big chance in the last election but blew it by listening to GOP political consultants and thought Trump would never make it

    how wrong they were,

After the wonderful Trump, it's going to be close to impossible to find someone better

Elizabeth Warren, US Democratic senator, announces 2020 presidential bid

    2020 US Presidential Race-10797456-3x2-940x627-jpg
Senator Elizabeth Warren launches her presidential campaign north-west of Boston.

US senator Elizabeth Warren, struggling to move past criticism over her claims of Native American heritage, aimed for a fresh start on Saturday (local time) with the formal launch of her 2020 presidential campaign, saying that she is fighting for all Americans.

    Key points:

    • An unprecedented four female candidates, so far, are vying for the Democratic nomination
    • Ms Warren has been dogged by a Native American ancestry controversy
    • Mr Trump's campaign said the American people would reject her "dishonest campaign"

The Massachusetts Democrat, a leader of the party's progressive wing, made her announcement from a historic site in Lawrence, north-west of Boston, that launched the US organised labour movement.

Senator Warren, 69, has made worker rights, fair wages and access to healthcare central to her campaign.
"This is the fight of our lives. The fight to build an America where dreams are possible, an America that works for everyone," Senator Warren said.

"And that is why I stand here today: to declare that I am a candidate for president of the United States of America."

    ---

    Absolutely 0% chance of winning.

Will bail in early rounds, unable to attract the quantum of funding required to run for the POTUS.

Her claim to a Native American bloodline is not tenuous, but laughable ... her street cred is shot.

    IMHO
