Just in-case it was missed ...

    March 5, 2020

WASHINGTON — Republicans are wielding the power of their Senate majority to intensify an election-year investigation of Hunter Biden’s work for a Ukrainian energy firm, putting new scrutiny on the son of Joseph R. Biden Jr. as the former vice president re-emerges as President Trump’s chief rival for the presidency.

In elevating questions about the younger Mr. Biden’s work in Ukraine, Senate Republicans are effectively picking up where the president left off last year when he pressed the country’s leaders to investigate the Bidens, an effort that led to his impeachment in the House on charges that he abused his power by seeking foreign help in the 2020 election.

It is part of a broader attempt by his allies on Capitol Hill to breathe fresh life into politically charged inquiries into issues that have preoccupied Mr. Trump.

    This is very true.

No what the US needs is more political parties, the removal of money from politics and term limits for federal judges.

That is why federal judges need term limits. There is no logical reason that a federal judge should be a lifetime appointment.

You wouldn't be saying that if the Democrats had been on the ball and filled all the spots with their candidates though.

No not at all. I doubt they even thought about subverting the constitution . Separation of powers and all.

Ukraine's prosecutor general axed in parliament no-confidence vote

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine’s prosecutor general was axed in a parliamentary vote on Thursday night, the latest casualty in a sweeping reshuffle by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that has raised questions about the country’s reform momentum.

The United States and the European Union had given public backing to prosecutor general Ruslan Ryaboshapka for his efforts to root out corruption and shed corrupt or under-qualified officials by making them reapply for their jobs through an exam.

Ryaboshapka was also in the spotlight last year as the man to decide whether to launch an investigation into former U.S. vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter, in what became a key issue in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

But lawmakers in parliament, where Zelenskiy’s Servant of the People party commands an unprecedented majority, voted to remove him in a no-confidence motion hours after the president criticized him for not producing results.
    ---
One opposition lawmaker said removing Ryaboshapka would pave the way for an independent investigation into Burisma, the energy company where Hunter Biden used to be a board member.

Or that a Brit Lord gets to sit around getting fed for life before handing over his warm seat to the firstborn male; but that's the way it is, till enough people decide it shouldn't be.

Frankly - term limits should be across the board.

USA - seems our congressman and senators spend about 90% of their time campaigning for re-election... doesn't leave much time for solving our problems

We all wanna see Bonkers Bernie going head to head with the OranguTrump in a fireworks twin-turbo clown-car demolition derby of an election.

We do not want to see Boring Biden ushering in a renaissance of sobriety and tedium in US politics.

I love the Bernie. And if Trump is not going to be the Big Cheese then I want Bernie in the hot seat.

The age of the mealy-mouthed moderates is over. Long live the new hardline loonies.

So once again you can not elaborate on what makes Bernie a "loonie". All of his views are in line with mainstream middle of the road European politicians. Very much sane minded; in fact Bernie is the most grounded and real Senator in office.
