There seems to be some lame attempts by outfits like the BBC to present these apparently diverse opinions between cabinet appointees and Trump as some kind of discord or clash of ideologies. To anyone with a functioning mind these seemingly diverse opinions are a good sign.
Trump is neither a career politician, a diplomat or a military commander. He's a real estate guy FFS. He needs people that can challenge his own opinions and persuade him to alter them....where a case can be made to do so.
Any national leader needs people around him that will not just jump to support his every utterance, but to challenge and advise. In front of the press they may always be seen as in full support, in the interests of unity, but behind closed doors is where the real stuff happens and where decisions and courses of action are influenced, and decided.
A while back somebody was going on about how Trumps campaign management "took his phone away" so he could not "tweet" any more and get the campaign into trouble in the final stages. That's EXACTLY what a good team does.....it protects it's leader from exercising poor judgement....which even the best of leaders are liable to do at times.
There simply is far too much going on for one person to absorb and deal with it all. Governing is very much of a team effort, just as winning an election is...and the leader is just the mouthpiece.
