Mueller, a man of few words, may disappoint Trump impeachment advocates
Yahoo News MICHAEL ISIKOFF Jul 23rd 2019 5:34PM

    https://www.aol.com/article/news/2019/07/23/mueller-a-man-of-few-words-may-disappoint-trump-impeachment-advocates/23776607/

But those who know him best say Mueller is unlikely to deliver — or say much, if anything — that will advance the cause of those advocating Trump’s impeachment. The 74-year-old former special counsel has shunned the public limelight for decades, rarely giving interviews or holding press conferences. When he was required to testify before Congress, Mueller would generally speak in clipped, stilted and legalistic terms, almost never straying from his written talking points. “A lot of people are going to be disappointed,” said one former FBI veteran when asked what to expect when Mueller, at long last, appears under the klieg lights.

To be sure, Mueller has pretty much telegraphed as much. “The report is my testimony,” he memorably declared last May when he made
his only public comments about the investigation that the political world has been obsessing over for the past two years. It is worth noting that Mueller — unlike special counsels or independent counsels in the past — said absolutely nothing public during the course of his probe. He never defended himself when Trump repeatedly derided his investigation as a “witch-hunt” or attacked his staff members as “angry Democrats.” After Mueller delivered what was arguably his most important indictment — against Russian military intelligence officers for hacking the Democratic National Committee and delivering the stolen contents to WikiLeaks — it was then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein who gave the press conference detailing the charges. The noteworthy point wasn’t just that Mueller didn’t conduct the press conference. He didn’t even show up.

Moreover, a Justice Department official just made Mueller’s desire to stay as mute as possible a lot easier. In a
remarkably broad letter, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer gave Mueller strict guidelines he should follow when he testifies about his tenure serving as the Justice Department special counsel. Mueller should “not go beyond” the public wording of his report, Weinsheimer wrote. He should say nothing about redacted portions that may impact ongoing cases, such as the upcoming trial of Roger Stone, the president’s longtime political adviser. He must adhere to the department’s “longstanding policy” of not discussing “uncharged third parties” (read: Trump or members of his family). And perhaps most critically, the letter stated that Mueller should refrain from saying anything about the internal deliberations of his office — how and why it reached the decisions it made on the grounds that such matters could be covered by executive privilege, attorney work product and other potential legal bars.

It's a testament to just how fucked the US currently is that Mueller has issued a report that concluded they couldn't exonerate the POTUS from having committed a crime and that but for his own administrations ineptitude and subordinates ignoring Drumpf's orders they would have obstructed the investigation and Trumptards are still talking about how his testimony will be a 'nothing burger'.

Attack, attack, and attack; but don’t stop there. Make each new attack more extreme, more ad hominem and more vulgar. Ignore all evidence to the contrary and accuse the investigators of wrongdoing, then switch in mid stride to accusing the investigator of being bullied into a wrong conclusion.

Attack and attempt to humiliate President Trump’s children; crudely belittle his youngest child.

The aforementioned is the Democrat’s reasoned approach to cogent debate regarding why they have a better plan for moving America forward than President Trump.

In reality they are succeeding only in making President Trump a sympathetic figure. But they’re too blinded by hatred to reason that fact. They’re too arrogant to realize they are disrespecting the intelligence and sense of fairness of the America people.

The Democrats at last count had 23 candidates running to unseat President Trump in 2020. However, not one of them has distinguished themselves vis-a`-vis bona fide reasons based upon their being the summum bonum juxtaposed to President Trump.

They do not give credit to the accomplishments made by President Trump; they instead hiss that he is bad. They laughably credit Obama for the most vibrant economy in several decades, when in fact the only real thing Obama accomplished was having more people living on government subsidies than at any time in history. Albeit, Obama did mandate grown men must be allowed to use bathrooms with little girls and our wives and mothers.

Instead of these candidates giving President Trump credit for his massive accomplishments not least of which are the manufacturing jobs that are returning to America; they attack.

The Democrats obviously overlook that President Trump is not only responsible for turning around the economy, but he did it without the “magic wand” Obama condescendingly said it would take to accomplish what President Trump has done.

Instead of praising President Trump’s work in restraining North Korea, the Democrats support failed global socialism. Instead of recognizing and applauding what President Trump has done for America, they boast and promise if they are elected they will return America to what she was before. What they overlook is that the American people soundly rejected what America was before, when they elected President Trump. The American people like having more money in their paychecks. The working people like lower taxes.

Americans like having a President who is committed to bringing in new higher paying working class jobs and the return of higher paying blue-collar jobs. The American workers are glad to receive bonuses at the end of the year and only a fool would be stupid enough to think that Democrat leaders mocking those bonuses as not being significant, is endearing.
President Trump advocates for American prosperity, American economic growth and American security. The Democrat candidates advocate for an unsustainable agenda of make everything free. Instead of giving President Trump credit for the direction the country is now headed in and then adding what they would do to build upon what he has accomplished, they claim he has accomplished nothing.

The American people are smarter than that. Democrat attacks claiming that President Trump has made America a worse place to live are spitting in the face of the American people.

The Democrats are displaying their elitism and perceived social superiority. They are not appealing to the interests of We the People. They are appealing to the lowest common denominator of society. They are promoting the most extreme ideals of the fringe elements in our country.

In the process they’re making President Trump into a sympathetic figure. In the final analysis Americans by far and large have a sense of fair play and subscribe to the recognition of fair play and accomplishment.

The Democrats fail to recognize that blatant attempts to circumvent the Constitution and disenfranchise voters, will transmogrify our election process into the third world election regime of a potentate.

As I said, the American people aren’t stupid nor are they deaf and blind. We know when we’re better off. We know when a person is suffering rabid attacks by the group responsible for Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton and Obama.

The Democrats are more foolish than I give them credit for, if they believe their continued assault on President Trump and his family is a winning strategy. The American people want the direction in which we’re heading today.

We do not want a return to the past in which, unemployment, food stamps, lack of jobs, low GDP, and upward spiraling cost of goods and services were crippling our families. We want to hear what the opposing candidates will do to build upon what President Trump has accomplished and continues to accomplish.

President Trump has almost single handedly reset the course of America to the benefit of We the People. Attacking what he has accomplished for us is a formula, guaranteed to make him a sympathetic figure in the eyes of the American people. And that will have a tsunami effect when rational Americans go to the ballot boxes in 2020. It sets the stage for potentially the greatest Presidential landslide victory in history.

Deficit Don? Red ink gushes in Trump era

    So much winning...

President Donald Trump may have to hand out some new nicknames — for himself — after endorsing a bipartisan budget deal with Congress: “Trillion Dollar Trump?” “Deficit Don?”

With a new bipartisan budget deal that does nothing to cut federal spending, Trump is on track for another $1 trillion deficit this year. And there’s no reason to believe the following fiscal year will be any different, with ballooning deficits from higher spending, the 2017 tax cuts — Trump's signature legislative achievement, which slashed revenue — and none of the entitlement reforms long preached by Republican leaders on Capitol Hill.

Candidate Trump bragged that he would pay off the entire federal debt in eight years, but President Trump is governing as if deficits don't matter.

In fact, Trump is approaching the level of red ink from President Barack Obama’s first term, when Obama racked up trillion-dollar deficits four years in a row. Trump is on pace to do the same, starting with this year's yawning deficit of more than $1 trillion, according to budget estimates.

But there are huge differences: Trump has a growing economy with historically low unemployment and a soaring stock market, while Obama was battling a brutal downturn in the economy during the worst recession in 80 years, making it much harder to curb federal spending.

Though Trump’s administration has repeatedly proposed massive cuts in its annual budget plans, lawmakers in both parties have laughed off the proposals. Now Trump has agreed to a second sweeping budget deal with Democrats that increases spending by more than $300 billion.

“This was a real compromise in order to give another big victory to our Great Military and Vets!" Trump tweeted Monday night in announcing his support for the $1.37 trillion package.

But some in Trump's party were far less excited, wary that the profligate spending under Trump makes Republicans look like hypocrites.

"Everybody here basically… talks about it in a campaign and then gets into the rhythm here and we keep generating all these deficits and adding to all that debt,” Sen. Mike Braun (Ind.) said. “That’s what I ran against. That’s one of the big things why people back in Indiana elected me.”

Other Republicans said Trump wasn’t to blame.

“It’s not the president who is spending too much. It’s Congress,” said Sen. Joni Ernst (Iowa), who argued there was little her party could do to take a harder line in the talks against spending. “Do we want a shutdown in the government again? We don’t want to shut down the government.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), who served as the lead Democratic negotiator, and Senate Minority Leader Schumer (D-N.Y.) hailed the deal, saying it met their priorities for more domestic spending while "turning off" the tens of billions in automatic spending cuts slated to go into effect if no deal were reached.

“Democrats have always insisted on parity in increases between defense and non-defense, and we are pleased that our increase in non-defense budget authority exceeds the defense number by $10 billion over the next two years," the two Democrats said in a joint statement. “It also means Democrats secured an increase of more than $100 billion in funding for domestic priorities since President Trump took office.”

Part of the deal would include a second debt ceiling increase under Trump, with few of the spending reductions demanded by the GOP in the Obama era.

Instead, Trump and the GOP’s biggest fiscal priorities — bolstering the Pentagon and slashing tax rates — have trumped the GOP’s deficit hawk rhetoric. The deal also seeks to prohibit Democrats from tying the administration’s hands on key border and spending priorities, which Republicans see as a big win.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had pushed Trump to enter into budget negotiations for months, arguing that avoiding a default and shutdown was worth the price of increasing spending with a Democratic House in divided government.

But McConnell was careful to call it "The Administration-Pelosi Budget Deal" in his news release, despite the fact he'll back it because of the increase in Pentagon spending. Not a word was included about the deficit.

“I am very encouraged that the administration and Speaker Pelosi have reached a two-year funding agreement that secures the resources we need to keep rebuilding our armed forces,” McConnell said. “This was our top objective: Continuing to restore the readiness of our armed forces and modernize our military to deter and defend against growing threats to our national security.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), a close Trump ally, is backing the agreement but said Democrats "refused to even discuss meaningful budget offsets and more importantly, any long-term reforms to the driving spending forces adding to our debt."

Other Republicans complained about the increase in the deficit, but that doesn't mean they're prepared to vote against the package either — not with Trump giving them cover to vote for it.

“I’m very concerned about it. Particularly on the entitlement side, the mandatory spending side, which is where most of the money is. And that’s something that the president has not had a particular interest in doing anything about,” acknowledged Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the party whip. “We’re going to end up spending more than a lot of Republicans, I’m sure, would like. But that’s what it’s going to take to get a deal.”

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), who is up for reelection next year, said Trump hasn't done enough on the deficit but insisted the problem is caused by both parties. And Cornyn noted he's likely to back the agreement, "reluctantly."

"I don't see the alternative," Cornyn said. "We're not going to deal with the growth in deficits and debt and mandatory spending this week. Sadly, that's not on the table."

The U.S. deficit is on track to exceed $1 trillion this year — the highest level since 2012, when much of the country was still climbing out of the recession. In fact, deficits have never been so high outside of wartime or an economic recession.

Within four years, the Treasury is set to spend more on interest payments than on the nation’s entire defense budget.

Some of Trump’s close advisers, including hard-line fiscal conservatives like acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and acting Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, pushed for more cuts to spending or a one-year deal at current spending levels.

But Democrats refused to go along with such a plan, and at the end of the day, Mnuchin and Trump believed a happy Wall Street — along with voters who like federal spending and want to see the values of their 401K plans rising — was more important than the deficit, to the disappointment of GOP conservatives.

“We have to be focused on fiscal responsibility,” Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.) said on CNN on Monday afternoon. “It's one thing for Republicans to talk about it, but we've got to live up" to it.

You really are a fucking moron. Obama had a higher level of sustained quarterly GDP growth and was the architect behind the current economic boom that has been underway since 2009. Your comment is not only wrong but it is an outright lie and not a surprise coming from you twinkboy you fucking utter moron.
