    This is fucking hilarious.

Relations between the US and Mexico appeared to be heading for crisis on Thursday after Enrique Peņa Nieto cancelled a meeting with Donald Trump and the White House retaliated by suggesting a new 20% tax on imports from its southern neighbour to finance the construction of a border wall.
Who the fuck does the idiot think is going end up paying for this?

    It gets even funnier:

Spicer painted the border tax as one aspect of a broader tax reform policy. “When you look at the plan that’s taking shape now, using comprehensive tax reform as a means to tax imports from countries that we have a trade deficit from, like Mexico,” said Spicer.

“If you tax that $50bn at 20% of imports – which is by the way a practice that 160 other countries do – right now our country’s policy is to tax exports and let imports flow freely in, which is ridiculous. By doing it that way we can do $10bn a year and easily pay for the wall just through that mechanism alone. That’s really going to provide the funding,” he said.
So he thinks he can solve trade deficits by taxing the fuck out of importers? And does he honestly think no-one would retaliate?

Except you float the idea behind closed doors so you don't alarm people with a less than well thought out idea and end up pissing people off or alarming one of the neighboring countries or start a war or something.

Start a war? That seems a bit of an exaggeration.

Start a trade war...yeah that could happen.

Be interesting to see the May/Trump press conference later today, will they hit it off or not. Maybe Trump will become May's bitch like Reagan was Thatcher's bitch.

Nah, he'll just grab her by the pussy.

When is the presser, I find Trump's nonsensical rambling quite entertaining.

Should be quite amusing putting him next to her.

I wonder when Trump's going to do an interview with CNN rather than with his talking sphincter, Hannity.

    What's to refute?

It's basically Trump propaganda. For example, the Trumpkin idiots unfurling their Trump banner do not have the mental capacity to deduce that his idea of raising a 20% tariff on Mexican goods will result in prices going up, exports to Mexico going down and their jobs being axed (40% of cars made in Mexico are American parts, and six million jobs in the US depend on trade with Mexico).

Are you really as fucking thick as you sound?

I'm starting to believe it's not humanly possible.

i'm going to guess that on election night the second most nervous person in america is hannity. because he "owns" trump more than anyone else in the media.

I don't think accountability has ever been Hannity's/Lumpy' s strong suit.

If I could fight any television personality, I'd pick Hannity in a heartbeat. The dude is a giant walking tampon

Bannon has labeled the free press as the opposition. Trump and Bannon need to have an strawman for their plan to work. The news media will be his convenient scapegoat if things go wrong. Trump is making good use of his faithful. Most of them are just ordinary Americans who want to see things improve but they are being used as a collective prop to prove his popularity to the world. Another group of his supporters are cynical, manipulators who are using his appeal to advance a more insidious and calculated agenda. His appeals to nationalism, protectionism, militarism play into the worst impulses in the American public. Trump and Bannon are miscalculating though. The press will not become compliant and cowed by him. They will not submit to being a state organ of propaganda. They will do their job which will make him even more obsessed with crushing them. But he will not win. He will fail and fail big.

Not posted on Trump, not my country, but the man is a bit of fresh air, not a politician ,speaks his mind.
Will he be good or bad long term, who knows, one thing for sure, he's shaken the establishment and they will now have to listen to the people a little bit more often.

I read an article noting 74% of Californians want to end sanctuary cities in CA.

I googled and found 4 websites, but nothing at all from the mainstream media.

65% of "Hispanics" want to end it to. They are even closer to it than other groups.
73% of Dems want to end it also.

Poll: Most Californians Want an End to Sanctuary Cities
by Jeff Powers in Civil Rights Jan 24, 2017

San Diego, CALIF.– A stunning new poll is out on the “sanctuary cities” debate, and it shows a huge divide between what the people of California want from their lawmakers, and what state lawmakers are actually doing in Sacramento.

The latest IGS-UC Berkeley poll shows 74 percent of Californians want an end to sanctuary cities.
The poll notes 65 percent of Hispanics, 70 percent of independents, 73 percent of Democrats, and 82 percent of Republicans want an end to the designation.

Eighteen cities and counties in California, including the three largest counties — Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego — are all currently classified as “Sanctuary.” Governor Jerry Brown recently passed the Trust Act, which essentially makes California a “Sanctuary State.”

Pray how has he "shaken the establishment"?

Half his cabinet are Goldman Sachs, he has big oil going for Sec. of State and another billionaire in charge of Education.

Shaken it? He's opened the fucking door wide open to it.

The people he's shaken are the Democrats, because they didn't think 60 million people would vote to get fucked right up the jacksy.
