A majority of Americans praised President Donald Trump’s inauguration speech, according to a Morning Consult/National Tracking Poll, despite media criticism that it was too dark and divisive.
The release states:

Overall positive reactions: 49% of respondents thought the speech was good or excellent, compared to 39% who found it only fair or poor. Additionally, 55% of voters thought it was better than they expected it to be.
Much more optimistic than pessimistic: 51% found the speech optimistic and 50% found it hopeful. Only 26% found it to be pessimistic.
“America First” is a hit: 65% of voters reacted positively to the passage in which Trump said, “It’s going to be America First.” 22% reacted negatively to this concept.
Definitely not boring: only 21% of respondents found the speech boring, compared to 57% who didn’t.
The poll also shows that Trump’s favorability ratings have swung seven points. Forty-nine percent view him favorably, while 44 percent view him unfavorably. Prior to the speech, only 46 percent viewed him favorably, and 48 percent viewed him unfavorably.

For me it is not a matter of believe or don't believe I don't care I think the wall is needed, who pays for it in the end we will see.

This Trump wall that so many people are in a big flap over, is really just closing gaps in the wall(s) that are already there and beefing up the existing barriers.

There was no great outpouring of angst when these sections were built.....but the Trump wall signals the end of humanity for the liberal left. most of whom live far away from the border and probably have never seen any of these barriers before.

Don't discount the idea of Mexico paying for the upgrades.....Trumpie will make them pay one way or another.... It does not have to be cash......

It really does suck because Mexicans are for the most part very nice people, but the drug cartels have been pretty well running things for decades now and the local authorities have lost control of their own country in many places.

It's not something that can be solved from the US, but the problems of mass illegal migration and all of the violence and crap that follows needs to be controlled as much as possible, instead of just pretending that it does not happen, and accusing any attempt deal with it "racism" or some such nonsense.

There's always lots of money to be made on both sides of the border which makes it difficult, but somebody has to try. Funny how so many people talk about how ridiculous the Trump wall sounds....do they not realize that others have been building walls and fences along that border for years.

Department of Agriculture, Department of Health and Human Services and Environmental Protection Agency staff are all reportedly subject to gagging orders.

And he begins the process of gutting the EPA...

As well as the prohibition of social media posts, an order reportedly handed down this week, it has been claimed the EPA has been ordered to freeze all grants, contracts and other agreements until further notice.

A memo sent to EPA staff said there should be no press releases sent to “external audiences” and that “no social media will be going out”.

Corrupt politicians have create a situation where are at least 11 million illegals residing in the usa, and then try and make a virtue of the fact that they refuse to clean up their own mess.

You step outside and go anywhere and you will see there are borders, walls and controls everywhere, love to see these celebrities who have so much angst and anger towards trump for putting up a wall, build a bridge into their vast estates and let anyone who fancies it get in.

We don't get much in the way of constructive thought or any suggestions about solutions to these problems do we? Just complaints and general whinging.

Naturally, as a "non-American, (posting on a Thailand based forum where it would appear that far more than half the membership is non-American) I should not comment on any of these things.....much better to just make vile comments about the Presidents wife and ten year old son......that would surely be a credit to American "culture" and political insight....
