My wife and I have been living in Bang Saen for almost a year. We are both professionals and have lived in and visited many other countries in the region over the past 10 years. We have never experienced such racism, to extent where we have been told "This is Thailand go home..." and threatened with an iron bar and a bottle, simply for asking neighbors and their friends to be quiet at 12.30 and then at 3.30 in the morning.

So much for the land of smiles, it is more like the land deceitful smiles and outright racism. On the wall around the street there is even some graffiti reading "Asian Blood"

I do not believe this is typical of all Thais, other households in the street are very neighborly. It is like many other cultures a small minority. However there seems to be a tendency by others to turn a blind eye and not want to get involved, which only allows the racist chants to get louder and become mainstream

If this example is the level of young people in this university town then there is real concern for this country.
