German Muslims Seething at Carnival Parade

During this year's carnival parades in Germany (originally a Roman Catholic tradition), some of the contestants in the float competition decided to depart from the standard bashing of Bush, America, and German politicians, and built a float that has the German Islamic front groups seething: Carnval attracts 3 million in Germany - Muslims offended.

This is the same parade that had a float of Clinton grabbing the Statue of Liberty's boobs.

Cologne and the western cities have a terrific Fasching. Mardi Gras and Fasching carnival floats have poked fun at political situations for over a hundred years -- they aren't going to stop now. You should have seen some of the New Orleans floats after the Katrina/FEMA debacle.

The key is this:

Mockery and rule-breaking is a key element in carnival, which is celebrated mainly in Germany's heavily populated Rhineland where Catholics form a majority. The floats, built by clubs of amateurs for the Dusseldorf parade, often have crude messages.

Crude messages is one thing, but offending an inoffensive minority is quite another. I say end this arrogant disregard for the feelings of others.

By the way, have they finished recalling the 800,000 pairs of Nikes that have Nike Air written on them in such a way that if you turn it sideways and look hard enough from a particular angle you can discern something that with a bit of imagination might be one of the names of Allah? I think we should know why they do these things to deliberately upset European Islamry.

Those poor Germans, now they'll have millions of wild-eyed jihadis screaming for their heads in an attempt to convince the world what a peaceful religion Islam is. I remember Kurt Vonnegut defined original sin as taking ourselves too seriously. The Muslims should read more Kurt Vonnegut.
