Does the Mormon church view all incoming money as income and therefore subject to tithing or do they take only a narrow view of 'salary' or something as subject to tithe?
I'm not of the belief that Romney has deliberately broken any laws, he's rich enough to get around them, but he does have somewhat of a history of being opaque about his earnings and finances.
If/when it came out that he had used elaborate instruments to reduce his taxes that might not sit well with the electorate, I'm guessing that's why it's being pushed by the Dems, but that's politics and he might get away with it.
What if he's used ruses to reduce his tithe? Evangelicals seem uneasy with him now -- if he cheated his own church what would happen then?
