Any delivery service going up country?

    Hi,
Next month I would like to move an oven from Pattaya to Uthai Thsni province. Does anyone know of a delivery / transport company that I could use ?
    Thanks.

    How big is this oven?

If there are buses going from Pattaya to 'Uthai Thsni' the bus guys will stow it in the bus hold for a few hundred baht. You obviously need someone to be at the bus station to collect it and the bus guys will be in contact with them on Line etc.

If it is a full stove oven with stove top this probably won't be possible.

presuming you are moving to your Mrs area then a pickup will be your best bet, get her to ask around where she lives if someone with one will do a round trip for petrol and a cash sum.

I reckon cooking Hot Dogs all the way in a tuktuk would be a big hit on TukTukTikTokWokWok and make you rich famous plus an added bum massage.

Or rent a pick up for 3 days and do a mini roadtrip.

You then have the option of bringing it back with you after spending an hour in the godforsaken place.

^Lol. Or he could read all of SA's words (rants) about upcountry hicks & oiks in the "Nakhon Nowheres" of TH.

Maybe P76 will make his own pond (a la Mendy) or pool (a la Stumpy) and we'll get pics & stories in the process.

Uthai Thani could best be described as the kind of place Portland Jeff would pretend to live in.

It is a bit like moving a motorcycle. Get a local to contact a local pickup truck courier service. They will do it for a few thousand. There are many trucks crisscrossing the country everyday.

I believe "Freight forwarding" are the buzzwords

The OP really needs to specify what kind and size of oven it is.

While I doubt he'd have trouble moving a 799 baht TD convection special, or even bother, is it a 120k baht full gas stove+oven, or a large 10k electric counter top.

Are you suggesting it won't fit in the pickup or that Somchai will assess the value of the transported goods and charge accordingly

    Moi?

I'm asking because if it's smaller than a full standing stove, putting it in a box and taking it to the bus station for the bus boys to place in the hold for a few hundred baht is probably the cheapest and easiest method. A few hours later and it's in Uthai Thani bus station.

Your right, P76, if it's one of those halogen ovens just keep it on your knees in the Cherdchai

    1. You don't need to go, obviously.

    2. Do you take Cherdchai 1st class or 2nd Mike, or splash out on Cherdchai VIP on your holidays here?

Thanks for the entertaining and also some serious replies.
Just wondering if there was a better option than doing it myself.
I have 6 days of my working life left and looking forward to some extended stays in our house of 20yrs.
I need a good oven and cook top as I'm not prepared to live on Pad Krapow

    Find one online that delivers.

If difficult, buy one on Laz Mall.

    It's a fucking upright stove with oven, so 600 x 600 x850.
It's as new and 20,000 bht off new price.
I think it's going in the "too hard basket"
    Cheers.

We're all in agreement then except Lulu the argumentative sod. So dismantle the new oven into parts Large enough to fit into the boot of a suzuki swift and PM Hazza for a quote.

Good luck with it P76 and remember to take pics during disassembly.

If you get half way to Udon and get bored of your oven I think I may have an answer to your problem, P76.

Our oven in Korat went off to be fixed around two years ago and I'm starting to think that it will never come back.

That gap looks around 600mm by 600mm by 850mm to me.

    Just a thought...
