Started working my way through the thousands of photos taken on my recent trips North and Cambodia.

The first lot I've prepared are of the various bugs and flowers I photographed.

Unfortunately I've used up all my TD phot storage space so I'm at the mercy of DD to complete this thread never mind all the others.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for most of the trip so using a macro lens is difficult because the wider aperture really limits the depth of field, sometimes as low as 2 or 3mm, great for some pics but awful for others...such as this caterpillar, I was trying to focus on the drop of water stuck to it, but it just meant that even the head is not sharp....





This stick insect isabout 4mm diameter and I had to use an extension ring to focus in this close, but again very very little DoF. At least he was still, the lens is not more than a quarter of an inch from him.



This is actually taken with a 400mm lens and therefore able to us flash......but to get it I couldn't see through the view finder and had to rely on auto-focus.....could be a tad sharper
