JPPR have you got know creak atm?
Man about the house? Dads army?
No, it's that lunatic commie Sir Keir Starmer making the ice in numpt's drink rattle these days.
Beautiful weather at the mo.
Big clear blue skies, mountains framing the horizon, breathing doesn't cover one with sweat. Lubbly jubbly.
Perhaps spamdreth has 87 articles from the 'net about the climate.
I think I can translate.
Has the river or creek dried up due to lack of rain?
Beauty day here. Been hit and miss with the rain and when it has rained, its been a short blow over which makes it humid as hell but still quite nice.
Foxtail palms have really grown as I had hoped they would. I planted first row about 4 years ago after the pool was done, then behind it I planted another row of 5 two and half years after. Next year I will plant another row to keep the pool private and shaded. Now as you drive in, you cant see the pool from the front so its what I wanted for privacy and making it a nice villa type environment.
Wife made up some Pad Thai Goong for lunch
25 yr old bookshop fling and eager eager beaver lives around 100km away and went out hiking.
There were some pic of little mushroom things so perhaps a hiking and mushroom picking combo.
She's coming back to the city for a few days the start of next month.
The north of Thailand really is a glorious place. :-)
Well weather continues to be extremely nice. 18c in the am and about 30c afternoon but around here there is always the afternoon breeze. Its peaceful, quiet and my wife and enjoy all the bird species around the place.
Enjoying the easy life.
With the early afternoon - later evening rain then sun the next day, the place can turn into a jungle in just a week. Nice being outside working around the place. Then head upstairs when it gets hot to do some work as I still employed for about 200 more days, not that I am counting or anything..
Snuck in a Hilux wash. Why pay to have it done when I can have a beer, listen to game on the TV and relax.
Ohh Old Eddie spouting off about how old his Grinder Dates are again? It is always his MO. Seems to validate him some how. Its really douchey but whatever works I suppose. I don't know what he posts unless people quote him these days. I am glad he is 100Km north of me and he can stay right there, wherever it is.
That new pool roof looks good, now that the dust has settled, are you still happy with it? Does it make the bar too dark? Is there anything you would have done differently?
Hmmm, I’m happy to let someone else wash my hilux. And then I can listen to or watch the game, have a beer and relax.
Looking back to when I first started the entire pool project, there are now a few things I wish now I had done.
- I should have pulled power and and water to a wash bin at the bar area so I could easily wash glasses and beer mugs and of course power to use various electrical devices for work, like my laptop and monitor etc.
- I would should have made the pool bar a bit wider but at the time, the granite top piece was the largest available and I didn't want to wait 3 months for a very expensive long one. I could have used 2 smaller pieces but it would have had a seam in the middle and it wouldn't have looked right to me. It hasn't been a problem as its usually on 2 of us sitting at the bar when guests come over as the wives go sit in the chairs to talk.
- As for the cover. It has definitely been a live and learn. While I did do some checks on the sun crossing over and what time the house would start to shade the pool I should have made the pool bar cover to the length it is right now versus the shorter version. The covered shallow area is perfect for young'ens that come over with friends and family. I do not find it too dark at all its a nice shade and with a ceiling fan the air moves great.
- I also think I probably should have made it wider to cover the Jacuzzi being it is half in and out. But that's debatable still. I like being able to sit in the sun with a beer in the jacuzzi and if too hot just slide left a bit and shade it is.
- I also wish I would have used Teakwood for the deck versus the manufactured wood. The manufactured wood has been very durable and I like it and it was significantly cheaper however the issue is the support structure underneath is metal and with a salt water based pool even if good quality galvanized metal, it has found way to corrode and I am having to take out small sections to repair. I probably should have gone with my gut and used wood for the support structure but was steered away from it by the manufactured wood maker.
But in the big picture, These are things I would likely do differently but hasn't changed my pool enjoyment at all.
Well I tried to get my wife to wash it and I got that "WTF" look. Unfortunately to get my truck washed I would have to drive about 15 or 20 minutes to a Thai place and they do not have TV's and no games on and I would have to bring my own beer ( which I could do). I wish car wash places around sold beer. There was one in Korat I used to take my truck and they had a TV that was never on but they did sell Beer. Well being honest, the gal would run next door to the Mom and Pop place and get one, But it was Leo. . Some perks of washing it at home
