Well Mission completed. Equipment all picked up and on its way to the US and Japan.
A portion of the crated and staged equipment.
As I drive away from the CM that we had our production for nearly 5 years. Over 1 million sq feet of floor space.
As we leave Pattaya, my wife insisted on going over by Wongamat and some local seafood market. I am not sure what Ol SA rants on about him being removed from it all, but this was an outlet dumping whatever the hell that gray shit was into the bay and lord was the stench awful. Ya don't see this up North. I will easily take a few months of smoke over seeing that and the stench year round.
Thank God we are leaving. It looks like the Gay Pride deal will hit town. I've seen enough.
I took a pic last night on a walk. This is probably the nicest hotel in the area. I stayed on the 31st floor for 25 days with an ocean view suite but glad to wave goodbye and never return. Next stop will be Japan in a few months.
I have about 10 months left until I call it a career. The countdown continues. Looks like March/April 2025.
Back home we go. Definitely have some property clean up as it has been raining and sun so it will be a jungle for sure. Got my trailer coming for the ATV and will be off on some rides. Look forward to seeing the mutts when I get there. They always go crazy when I return and Annie will walk up and drop the ball at my feet like always expecting me to toss it.
That wongamat looks worse than expected.
Ahhhhh Yes. Back home I go. With the rain and sun it didn't take long for everything to turn lush green. When I see these mountains I know I am about 35kms away
Got home and as expected the place was a mess and everything over grown. Its amazing how 25 days away can totally change a place. I got out my tools as I knew the rain was coming so I knocked out the front lawns and cleaned up all the fallen palm branches.
Our friends were about 4 hours behind us. My buddy picked up my ATV trailer I ordered. My Pajero does have a receiver to put a hitch. He swung over and picked it up for me in BKK then went to his sisters house in Phitsanulok then came over to hang out and go to dinner and stay the night.
Did a fit test and all good. I have to buy a drop hitch for my Hilux as its lifted.
Got up this morning, Got the Giants game on at the pool bar and the Pm2.5 is single digit.
I will say one nice thing about staying in a hotel for about a month, it gave me some time to look at where my wife and I hopefully plan to call it our last move. I sent out some inquiries to a few realtors. At this point its information gathering. With me finally retiring early next year, its time to get cracking
( ^ not my pic). My wife and I will look into moving to the coastal area of Palermo Sicily. This pic is the area I am looking to buy a Villa overlooking the bay. Its a process and we really can't sell up and move until her dad passes. While I love living here, I would like to have my last place near the ocean. Italy and Sicily has some really good prices for beach view Villas.
I really enjoyed the fortuna we had. A similar animal but more practical for me with kids
It was the third car I had ever bought brand new. The first one was a cherry qq bought that for Mrs bld as a sort of shopping trolley. Then we got a cherry Tigo which is kinda a rav 4 look alike and after getting cleaned up by a cane truck one night I decided these damn Chinese cars and cane trucks don't mix so went for the Fortuner car. Very comfy for the roadies.
He promised to headbutt me, if he ever saw me. Charming.
I guess that my solution would be that he 'never saw me'.
Mangiarono Con La Salvietta
Even you could afford this one Willy!
A nice little doer upper..
A house with a view..
Or build your own...
JP might be onto something here, it's cheaper than Thailand!
They are Joe. The area is laid back, places can be purchased in virtually any state from run down Villas to fixed up and just move in. Depends on how much you want to spend and how much work you want to do. Foods good, people are nice, immigration is pretty straight forward.
Still have a lot of research to do. My wife is interested but we'll see when the time gets closer.
Good luck with your search.
I've been looking for a Winter holiday home for a while.
We might end up being neighbours
