Man growing up and playing sports, Retard was a common term for anyone who blew a good play. It was never taken seriously and usually the person that jacked up the play whether baseball or football always laughed and even called them self a retard.
Vertically challenged sounds way more harsh then short or a midget. Almost sounds like a disease. "Yes Johnny has a rare disease of Vertically Challenged". Lets get the guy on growth hormones so he is normal.
Thankfully my daughters do not buy into all the PC stuff. My oldest routinely messages me with some one liner abut something someone did that was retarded and says it just as that. She will usually say "What a Fkn retard". I get it, laugh with her and we move on. We are not going to PC counseling.
Thankfully I am not changing any of that. It is what it is. The world is full of cry babies now. I remember back in High School playing Football and one of us would make a mistake, the coach with call us aside and say" What are you a fkning idiot". Then he would explain what we missed and we went out and played never thinking anything of it. He was right. We didn't go home depressed and suicidal and wanting to sue the coach. Can't imagine coaching any sports now. Everybody is a winner.
