I pity your limited understanding of scenery. No wonder you are so grumpy all the time, looking out sadly at the flotsam and jetsam of Pattaya Bay wishing you were in the Maldives.

Best bit really, a setting sun and the shimmering hues played o’er the briny wave, the sky painted crimson as the squid boats string themselves across the bay for their evening catch. Seascapes and sunsets, can’t beat it.

Fuck those jungle boonies and chickenhead halfwits.

Now that's funny as hell. Let's see. I gotta say I will take my quiet mountain life over hookers, brothels, drunk foreigners day in and day out. People pissing on walls and streets, scammers, pedophiles, jumpers from rooftops or balconies, endless traffic, stench everywhere you walk from rotting garbage they pour down the sewer drains and let's not forget those beautiful black sand polluted beaches.

    Yeah. Enjoy your paradise.

^I like seeing others success. If you worked hard for something, why not flaunt it a little? you can be one of two people and take it two ways; either use it to spur you on or just get jealous about it.

I took these out of the Health 2024 thread being it was directed at me.

In the big picture Tax, we all do what we like to enjoy life. I am very transparent and post what I do for fun and to share. I am truly that busy every day and thankful I am, sure beats the alternative..no? Some people post in the "What are you reading thread", others in the "Isaan Pond" and some occasionally in "Login your workouts" and "What are you drinking" etc etc. Why do you take offense to it?

Firstly, and most importantly, I am extremely thankful I am very healthy and capable to do the things I do. There are many that can't due to a host of either physical limitations, resource limitations or simply never had an interest in it or tried it. As I have said, I grew up in the mountains on a small farm. I have always been an outdoor type and always had hobbies to enjoy being outdoors. As a kid growing up I also helped neighbors around us as what one expects in a small community, a value my Dad and Mom instilled in me. So helping neighbors around my little neighborhood is rewarding. My "Tonka Toy" (as SA called it) is just another means to be outdoors and having fun with friends as is my motorcycle riding, flying drones etc. It has nothing to do with being "Manly". You seem to have a skewed point of view on why people buy the things they do. One thing about retiring is you need hobbies and activities or you will likely mentally implode or become sedentary and end up with medical issues or worse yet, be some angry bitter old man posting crap on a internet forum at others.

This thread was to show a slice of my life up north and that I am enjoying life living in Thailand, its really nothing more. So sure some of it is purchasing things to have fun, but what is wrong with that?

Stumpy shows us how contented one can be in rural environment, but he doesn’t need to rough it!

Seeking Ass is a litany of complaints about his frustrations with city living.

I recently moved to a more suburban life style. I’m a bit of a gypsy with lifestyle choices, but at least I have options.

Life can be hard or tolerable. It’s what you make it with your attitude. Tolerable contentment, or barely concealed contempt?

    Crack on Stumpy!

Oh yeah, plan on it BLD. Currently on a 8 day road trip to BKK, CB then BKK. Renewing my Work Permit so have to meet up with our company attorney today. My wife is having a Lasix procedure today as well. Going to be busy but will relax for a few after. Then off to the factory for a few days in CB and will stay in Sattahip.

Yesterday drove 611km. Got settled in at the hotel, had a nice dinner with Ms Stumpy, capped off the night with a bourbon.

Ahhh Yes. Start of the day in BKK. Walked along to grab a coffee, then off to the attorney. WTF...no BKK traffic on a Monday morning? Did I miss the memo?

Most unusual. Sounds like renewing your work permit is a bit different to a passport run?
