Thread: Another Convert! Hi Folks

Well it seems the drift away from TV is as slow but as powerful as the movement of the current floods. I am another that has had it up to the teeth with a group of Mods who have so many personal and political agendas and displaying their self perceived ego seems to be the only satisfaction they get in the course of the day. Boy does power corrupt.

I am hoping for a much better experience here, I have heard good things and am looking forward to a bit of intelligent discussion balanced with some good banter. I live down Southish in Trang and have been here nearly 4 years, married with two kids, house built and looooving it. Hello to all and I guess I will see you out there!

Watch out for a mod called Hillbilly. He's proclaims he's got a list of posters he's going to ban/delete then go to the top of a hill and laugh. Thai Visa eat your heart out.

I feel I should point out I have been looking in here for a long time but never felt the need to join or post, however the continuing erosion of free speech on Thai Visa convinced me it was time to voice my opinions here and accept the brickbats or bouquets as they come regarding my comments.

Metisdead is the worst. He has no life and has got to be the most ignorant person I have run across that still somehow has the ability to use a computer. He seems to be at it 24 hours a day deleting posts of users he doesn't like regardless if they fall within forum rules and offend nobody except him. What is worse is they let him do this and he even sometimes post reasons for his post that clearly show his bias and lack of rules related reasons for deleting posts.

I have had him delete my posts saying they are "nonsense" but then contact Support showing they are not nonsense but factually correct and have provide them links. There response ... You should have included the links in your post. Keep in mind I have then had him delete posts saying they had too many links.

He has deleted posts saying they contained "speculation" but how is that wrong when talking about a news article and you simply say, "I wonder if ____ this was the reason"

I can go on and on about what a moron Metisdead is and how Thaivisa is run by a bunch of insecure folks who actually know little of Thailand and its people.

There are a few knowledgeable and helpful mods but they mainly stay in the visa section. Bottom line is I had enough of Metisdead and left with a bang by publicly telling him to go F-off in a forum. I really wanted nothing more than to be banned to stop myself from every going back to that site run by miserable mods.

I highly suggest people contact the advertisers on ThaiVisa and explain why you'll never work with them because of their lack of judgement in supporting such a site ... I have.

That site is not good for Thailand or people wanting to visit or talk about Thailand. The small sections that do provide helpful service are overshadowed by the HUGE amounts of negativity they promote there. Nothing wrong with having negative opinions about Thais and Thailand but if you don't then expect to be on the wrong side of the mods. There is rarely a topic where they (metisdead) don't steer the opinion by removing posts he doesn't like or agree with .... typically the ones that use logic as opposed to emotions.
