    Hello from a newbie

    Hi.

Hello and goodnight (it's just struck midnight, here) having just spent the past few hours exploring this great site (how time flies).

Am pleased to say that I've found loads of interesting stuff and am looking forward to spending more time here.

I'm a fifty-something Brit who's been living with a Thai lass (in the UK) for approaching ten years. We go "home" to LOS each year and are hoping to retire there.

Next trip is for Loi Krathong for a month and I'm hoping to do a bit of traveling whilst there as I like exploring new areas.

Quite fancy a visit to Laos and also want to visit Burma on our next trip so am hoping to find some good trip reports and travel advice.

Any advice and/or suggestions regarding those places mentioned other places to visit would be most welcome.

    Thanks for reading.

    Thanks for the warm welcome

    Some further info.

[at]blue - To those from the M25, down, anywhere above Watford is "north" so, yes, I guess you could say I'm from The North - although I'm actually from The Midlands (last bastion of the true Englishman - although daddy hailed from the Emerald Isle though I never even met him as, in the words of The Temptations, Papa was a Rolling Stone).

    [at]sabaii sabaii - That's 50 Cent - not 50 Baht

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Welcome and just like you, am new too and had just returned from Asia including LOS .

Will be back again next year or maybe sooner subject to how construction progress turns out with the finishing touches of our Villa in Hua Hin. Thailand is the place for exotic food, women and wellness to delve into.... but driving is also a great way to thrill oneself with ... fabulous terrain, wild and traffic mad as ever!!!

Is there another way to fly over these guys???
