    Hi Teakdoorers, I joined today.

    Hey Teakdoorers,

I am a new member from today. Hoping to get some words of wisdom from established members. I am building a big house 20 min north of Chiang Mai, it is 70% complete. Yeah, Yeah, I know, I should have joined this before I started...

I need to order some Teak Stairs, with huge steps. If anyone can point me towards a possible supplier I would appreciate that mark mark. The house is starting to look funny without the stairs, so we plan to get them installed by August, if possible.

BTW I have been coming to Thailand since 70's, have lived here (this time) since 2002. But still have a lot to learn. my wife is a Thai policewoman, and we have a son called Patrick who is 6 yo. looking forward to meeting / chatting with some of you guys / ladies.

Hello Roger. Good luck to you on your build.

I'm suprised your policewoman wife can't help you out with the wood. They (the cops) seem to run the timber trade up here.

Thanks Thetyim, I have to admit I am no expert. Novice would better describe me when it comes to timber. I will check the redwood stairs instead.

    Thanks guys for the welcome.

Welcome. Best get over to the construction forum and start a thread on your house. More likely to get advice over there.

    Hi Roger,
I asked my Thai builder to surprise me with something ultra modern,
so he built this teak staircase up to my bedroom ,
trouble is after a few drinks I cannot seem to get all the way to the top .
my advice -keep it simple ,!!

Check out other stairs in your area that you like and asked who built them.
