Planning a trip to Thailand

So I've been yearning to visit Thailand once again ever since being introduced by the marine corps in 2004. We stayed in a hotel in Jomtien and visited Pattaya daily. Thought the place was heaven being a 20 yr old that loved to party. I want to plan a trip in the next few months and was wondering if anyone had tips on traveling or places to go. I figured I would fly into BBK and get a bus to the Pattaya area. Thanks

Welcome to TD! Bus to Pattaya and then,when you are tired,wander up north and and down south and see the real Thailand.

There are many places to go and do all over thailand depending on your personality. Tell us more about yourself (like & dislike), I'm sure many of us will be able to help you more.

Just remember: Pattaya is NOT Thailand and there is more to thailand than Pattaya.

Yeah like I said I was there before. I'm going to Pattaya for a reason but not marriage. I just want to have fun but I also want to see real Thailand and don't really know where to go. I'd like to stay somewhat close to the Bkk area. Cheap drinks and reputable girls in Pattaya would be good info also seeing as how I haven't been in almost 6 yrs

Like Mooncake says, Pattya is not the real Thailand. Unless you are simply looking to do your brains and other parts of your anatomy in!

The real Thailand is whatever you want it to be, just remember your manners, be courteous, polite and smile often, even if you don't feel like it. Don't dishonor others, keep your cool and be peaceful in all situations and you should be in for a great time.

Thai people will give you plenty of respect and have great interest in you if you follow that advice, male and female alike!

I am not one to frequent Pattya and other places of ill repute, but having lived here now for nearly 5 years, I have learned many thing in living with Thai people. My over riding feeling is that if you really want to know Thai people, give respect and it will be given back 10 fold!

From North, South, East or West, who can say which is best?

Pattaya is the real Thailand as far as a 20 something is concerned. The rest of Thailand is small towns and villages with nothing to do. You can venture there 30 - 40 years from now, in your viagra years as your future girlfriend's mother is yet to be born
