thanks for that Thetyim, I feel more at ease amongst like minded people, not being an expert on something has never stopped ME running off at the mouth in the past, and when I've had a few, well it's the norm

if I could only get my girlfriend off the PC (watching her thai tv), I would be quicker with my replies, the 62 is the year I was born (originality isn't a strong trait either), the Lou is my nickname as a kid (my real name is Luke). I'm presuming Thetyim isn't your first name also, but if it is it's a hell of a good one .

    That's quite interesting.
I met an internet friend of Thetyim and he said to me, "So does The time stil post on teak door?"
It wasn't until he described the little mouse in the avatar that I had a clue what he was talking about.
There's a lot to be said for simple user names.

Used to post here as fozzie bear but said it didn't really suit him, which is a shame because Ithik it would have suited him given time.

    Ahh, yes I know Fozzie.
I agree, if he has stuck around a bit longer he would have fitted in here.
It is quite difficult being a newbie and takes a while to find your feet.

But you have to start posting.

Lou, where are you now ?
LOS or UK or where ?

I'm in the UK (London), My mate and myself booked a flight yesterday for our November trip to Thailand, we like to travel about a bit, last time Phuket, Phi Phi and Krabi, this time we are looking to go to Cambodia for 8/9 days and then back to Jomtien for a couple of weeks, someone recommended that we hire a 4x4 and travel around Issan and the North, they said we would love it, but we can only speak a smattering of Thai and I believe not many Thais there speak English (fair enough, why should they).

So there will be an endless queue of ladies wishing to learn.

The Mai Hong Song loop is fun if you like mountains and quite a lot of english speakers, especially in Pai.

Cheers for the welcome DD, I should try taking photo's of meals in London restaurants, while holding my stomach with one hand and groaning slightly, they would either think I was ill with food poisoning (compo ), or if they had warped minds, that I was in lust with food

Thanks for the tip Theyim, I will google the places you mentioned, we were a bit worried that we would be drifting around Issan, running out of petrol ( note to self, take phrasebook ) and things, so thanks again,
    Lou.

Mae Hong Son loop i good, so is the Northern part of Isaan. Follow the Mekhong from Loei to Nong Khai and then either head to Udon Thani or to Vientiane, Laos (might need to arrange a Lao visa beforehand...)

I hear it's either Mr Beer or Mr Order. Take your pick.
