Yes, I am a Newbie to your forum, and have a question for all you long time Thai veterans, and anybody with knowledge about the Thai wedding custom of Sin Sod, I am engaged to a Thai woman, who is an RN, educated, divorced about ten years back, one adult daughter, I have read and am familiar with the custom of Sin Sod, and especially in the Isaan region where she and her family live. Bottom line seriously , what is customary for Sin Sod is a second marriage in Thailand. She comes from a good family and I know it is all about ' face' in Thailand so is the more you pay pay, bring more ''merit' and show your ability to support. ?? thanks for any advice, and try and keep the wise cracks at a minium....

Sin Sod is bullshit for a used wife, Her parents were compensated once and they will fuck you to death if you let em.
I married a 42 year old school teacher with her own home and land and fully set up and 20 years on the job and from a nice reasonably well off family whose 4 children were all collage educated.
My wife has 2 children a grown son working somewhere in the world and a younger daughter who I have helped raise and is in collage now herself and my wifes father just asked me to please treat his daughter well and with respect and welcomed me into the family and we had our marrage registered in the Amphur within a month.
