I have been reading TD for a while and are getting these messages about doing my first post. OK, I thought about waiting until we are settled in LoS, but what the h...
Time to retire so my Thai wife and I will get us a house and move, hopefully, within the coming half year. We have a small house in the Northen bush, Phayao, but only for vacational use. To far from the sea for me. We have spent the last 14 years in places as Greece, Malta, Germany and Denmark.
My first visit to LoS was work, 1987. I tried to retire 1994, but was found by a British 'headhunter' and accepted a 6 months contract in Germany that I'm still on. Always happens to me, a 3 year contract in ME lasted 12 years. Will try to break that habit now.

We are going to LoS in November to look at a few places. Buy or build or? Wifes family offered us a 5 rai plot in the boonies for just 200.000 b. but as I wrote earlier, too far from the sea. We already have a 3.5 rai rice paddy up there.
