Thumbs up Oh no, it's that man again

Looking briefly there's a number of names I recognise here, I wonder why? Salutations to friends, and foes alike, best wishes.

    Regards
    Be seeing you.

    Travelin man.

The song details the loves of a traveling man. They were: a "pretty senorita" in Mexico, an eskimo in Alaska, a fraulein in Berlin, a china doll in Hong Kong, and a Polynesian in Waikiki.

    Cool

He is not a number, he is a free man.

But it's a good trick with the bubble-gum ball.

    Hi Trav.

Blimey, Thad, you must be nearly as old as me if you can remember that series.

I absolutely loved The Prisoner too. It was sort of like watching people on acid. Watched it when I was a young kid, never missed an episode. Might have been reruns, not sure.

    Howdy!

Spent a good part of the summer watching the entire DangerMan/SecretAgent DVD collection while recovering from surgery.

Portmerion was used in several of the first season DangerMan episodes.

It was indeed. There were stories that part of the concept was taken from real intelligence data from MI6 about 'British Villages' in Russia where KGB officers were trained. That had also formed the basis for an Avengers, as well as a Danger Man episode, I seem to recall.

PS Have stayed there as well.
PPS Have always though just how ahead of its time the series was {'67}, with ubiquitous surveillance, use of psychotropic drugs for interrogation and conditioning etc..

That huge rubber ball that used to chase and suffocate prisoners used to scare the living daylights out me when I was a kid.

Yup, one DM episode set in the village, and obliquely referenced in two others.

You a Sandbaggers fan as well?

Ah, Neil Burnside's D-Ops team. Anyone ever seen the DVD's over here? I suspect that it was the only TV series ever to loose an episode because the script was deemed to breach the Official Secrets Act and, of course, the mystery/tragedy of the death of the series' creator.

    Regards
PS Understand they replaced Roy Marsden with Martin Shaw as Commander Dalgliesh! Heaven forfend.
