Better start politely... I used to live outside ChiangMai in a small house in a small village with my husband. We came in the early 90ties and -and like so many before us- fell in love with the country and the ever smiling Thais. Got sort of adopted by a family, build a small house and stayed there in the cold European winter. Him with his books me in the garden. He died some years ago... perhaps to many books and to little gardening. I moved on and found a new man got him interested in LOS and came back to Chiang Mai but only on holidays. He is younger and is still working so we do not have the option of staying for months out there. I still have the bug though like the North a lot and will go on having holidays there. The house! I have tried to sell it. First it was leased to a couple then it was lent out to a friend.... perhaps it ends up remaining mine until we can retire there... I speak some Thai. Know a bit about the North of Thailand... and thats about it. Oh forgot to say that when we are there we do go to town. We have lost several quizz nights at the UN of course not the last place... getting the mug of beer but 2nd or 3rd![]()
