Taking Air Asia at Don Mueang airport (Q).

    Hi.
I'm looking to take Air Asia airline from Bangkok to Cambodia.
Just a couple of questions regarding Air Asia & Don Mueang.
    Air Asia
    1. From your experience, does Air Asia overbooked their flights quite often?
    2. If you are put on standby, will they fly you out(on the next available flight) or the following day?

    Don Mueang:

    1. I understand if you have a E-Ticket to fly out of Don Mueang you can board the free shuttle from
Suvarnabhumi airport to Don Mueang. Is that correct?

    2. On my return flight into Bangkok, if I do not hold a return e-ticket flying out of Suvarnabhumi airport, can I show my e-ticket returning from Cambodia to board the free shuttle to Suvarnabhumi airport?

    3. If the free shuttle is not possible, how much should I pay a taxi driver to take me from Don Mueang to Suvarnabhumi airport? Given the driver may refuses to turn on the meter.
P.S. I will have 2 large luggage on-hand, I will use Bell Travel at Suvarnabhumi to return to Pattaya.

    Thanks.
    TC.

Your large bags will probably give you trouble with Air Asia...Never heard of free shuttle between airports...

Hold the line...Someone will be along soon to sort it all for you...You're the 3rd or 4th caller...

I took the shuttle bus from DM to Swampy and it was free and did not have to show a ticket. That was 2 years ago though.

What do you pay the taxi? What the meter says.

Who wants to lug two big bags on a bus? Take a taxi.

Check in on time or a little early and you will get a seat.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Hi. I will definitely demand the taxi to use the meter. But there are many drivers who balk on any customer request to use meters. Case in point Pattaya (where I reside). I just wanted to get a ballpark figure (from anyone)how much I should pay if taxis at the airport refuse to turn on their meter.

In regards to my luggage, I will purchase extra baggage weight online with Air Asia when I purchase my ticket.

350 baht is on the safe side +you pay the express toll.

There is a shuttle bus for you.

(you could google"transfer bus between suwarnabhumi and Don Muang" and I could post a link, but we are both lazy fucks )

Thanks for the price quote. Just to clarify, I never requested where/how to get the free Bus shuttle. I know where it is located. My question was, whether my E-Ticket returning from Cambodia would allow me to board the free shuttle to Swampy.

E ticket needed to use the swampy/don mueng shuttle.
Never experienced Air Asia over booking. Fly them frequently.
Use the taxi queue at the airport. They always use meter. I believe it is meter plus 50 baht airport charge. Less than 400 baht between airports.

Thanks to everybody for your help. Really appreciate it.

First option at DMK, I'll show the shuttle bus driver my return E-Ticket from Cambodia to board.
If he requires a e-ticket flying out of Swampy, I'll take a taxi at the queue to Swampy, then catch my reserved Bell Travel bus to Pattaya.

If you have a ticket flying out of the airport you are headed to you can get the free shuttle.

It leaves from exit 6 of DM and from the last exit on the right hand end of the arrivals hall at Swampy as you exit immigration.

If you do not have a ticket to fly that day from the airport you are headed to they will not let you board the bus.

I did it two days ago.

Thanks. Looks like I'll get a taxi at DMK. TC.

Hi TC, I am not taking the piss I promise. I just don't get your comment about when they refuse to turn on the meter at the airport. There are 500 taxis behind you ready to give you a ride. If anyone refuses to turn on the meter - you get out and walk to the next one. Different story sometimes if you are in a place with no other taxis but at the airport no one should ever have to take a negotiated taxi ride within the city limits.

Yes, not using meters is bullshit, of course the Taxi's use the Meter.

As far as AA over booking, I have never had it since I started using them well over 10 years ago so that one is out the door.

There is a shuttle bus back and forth between Airports, why would you want to pay for a Taxi. ?

    Whatever.
