Can anyone tell me if there is a spell-checker on the page and where it is located.Proberley sticking out like dog testicles but I cannot locate it,

use firefox, it has an automatic spellchecker.

Download the google toolbar - it has a good spell checker.

Yep. I just upgraded to FF2, quite useful, except the spellchecker runs on some odd bastardised version, any tips on how to change it to proper English?

Download the proper English spellcheck library (Mozilla add-ons), and you won't be told that colour is spelt color.
